New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara could hold out in hopes of securing a long-term contract extension, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Mike Triplett, who notes that the team's other top contributors from the 2017 draft class can have their fifth-year options picked up, whereas Kamara is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season. Triplett also mentions that valuing Kamara may be difficult because despite his versatility he only plays about two-thirds of the team's offensive snaps.

Fantasy Spin: This is pure speculation at this point, but Triplett lays out a compelling case for a contractual impasse. It's just something to file away and keep an eye on once the offseason kicks into high gear.

Jan 5 7:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball seven times for 21 yards and a touchdown and caught eight of nine targets for 34 yards in a 26-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He struggled in this one, capping off a disappointing season for both he and the Saints, though he did score for the third straight game. Despite frustrating his fantasy owners for much of 2019, Kamara still finished with 797 rushing yards on 171 totes along with five touchdowns and 81 catches for 533 yards with one score. Injuries, ineffectiveness, and fumbles played a part in making his season less-than-stellar. With Drew Brees only getting older, the Saints may gradually ease into a more run-heavy approach in 2020. Kamara is a prime bounce-back candidate for next year and should still be among the first players taken in all drafts.

Jan 5 4:53pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees went 26-for-33 for 208 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card playoff game. QB Taysom Hill completed a 50-yard pass, rushed for 50 yards on four carries and caught two passes for 25 yards and one touchdown during the game. RB Alvin Kamara rushed for 21 yards and one touchdown on seven carries and caught eight passes for 34 yards. RB Latavius Murray rushed for 21 yards on five carries. WR Michael Thomas caught seven passes for 70 yards on eight targets. TE Jared Cook caught five passes for 54 yards on five targets, while WR Ted Ginn Jr. caught one pass for 18 yards on two targets.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 11:30am ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara scored four times, in the last two games, to end the regular season, and heads into a middling matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round. Before Week 16, Kamara hadn't had a very impressive season but he seems to be coming into his own when it matters most. The Vikings have allowed just eight rushing touchdowns to backs this season, however, they have allowed 79 receptions out of the backfield. Kamara will likely see plenty of chances in a game that should be close throughout, which makes him a solid DFS option due to his work in the passing game.

Dec 29 6:00pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball eight times for 39 rushing yards and caught two of three targets for 18 receiving yards in a 42-10 win over the Carolina Panthers. After not scoring for nine weeks, Kamara has found the end zone twice in back-to-back games. The 24-year-old ran through a wide-open hole for a 15-yard score, then punched in a one-yard goal-line touchdown for his second of the first quarter. With a 42-3 third-quarter lead, New Orleans opted to rest Kamara for the remainder of the game, a smart move ahead of the playoffs. Whether the Saints get a first-round bye or not, Kamara should be a top fantasy option at the running back position for his next game.

Dec 29 4:33pm ET

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees wrapped up the regular season with 19-of-30 passing for 253 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. RB Latavius Murray led the team with 61 rushing yards on 17 attempts, while RB Alvin Kamara posted eight runs for 39 yards and two touchdowns while hauling in two grabs for 18 yards. WR Tre'Quan Smith led the way with five grabs for 56 yards and a score, and QB Taysom Hill had a 45-yard touchdown on his only grab while running for four yards. WR Michael Thomas was held to just 37 yards on four grabs across nine targets. TE Jared Cook also contributed two catches for 44 yards and a TD.

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 3:50pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara gets a great matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 17. Kamara busted out of his touchdown slump in a big way last week, with 110 scrimmage yards and two scores, including a 40-yard run. The 24-year-old is set up nicely against the 31st-ranked run defense of the Panthers. Opposing lead backs have averaged 117.3 scrimmage yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game over the last four contests. Kamara seems to have righted the ship last week and should be able to put up RB1 numbers. He's a great option in season-long leagues and DFS.

Dec 22 6:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 11 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Tennessee Titans, his first multi-score game of the 2019 season. He also added six grabs for 30 yards on seven targets.

Fantasy Spin: This is the type of game fantasy owners have expected all season. If you made it to your championship game despite the frequent goose eggs in the touchdown column from Kamara, congrats. He and the Saints wrap up the regular season in Carolina in Week 17.

From TheHuddle

Dec 22 5:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara picked up 80 rushing yards with two touchdowns on 11 totes and caught six of seven targets for 30 yards in a 38-28 win over the Tennessee Titans. Kamara's nine-week touchdown-less streak is no more, as he explosively broke free for a 40-yard scamper in the third quarter. The 24-year-old then punched in a goal-line score for good measure later in the game. It's Kamara's sixth 100-scrimmage yard game of the season. He'll get a Week 17 matchup with the Carolina Panthers, who he racked up 102 scrimmage yards against in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Dec 19 7:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara will square off with the Tennessee Titans in Week 16. Kamara has posted at least 75 scrimmage yards in eight of 12 games this year but hasn't scored a touchdown in nine straight contests. Tennessee has allowed an opposing back to exceed 75 scrimmage yards in three of their last four games- and they've allowed a running back to score in four straight games. Kamara has as good a chance to score this week as any, plus he could put up gaudy receiving numbers against a Titans Defense that has allowed the eighth-most receiving yards to running backs. He's a good bet to finish among the top-12 backs this week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 17 12:33am ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 14 times for 66 yards and he added five receptions for 23 yards in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Spin: It was expected Kamara would absolutely blow up this season with Mark Ingram out of the way, but he has a total of just one rushing touchdown, one receiving score and he hasn't topped 100 total scrimmage yards in the past three games.

From TheHuddle

Dec 17 12:00am ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball 14 times for 66 yards and caught all five targets for 23 yards in a 34-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Kamara averaged at least 4.7 yards per carry for the fourth time in his last five games. While he looked good on the ground, his touchdown-less streak continued. Drew Brees' insane accuracy in this game certainly hurt Kamara's chances at a touchdown, though excuses are running out for the star's lack of scores. Given his ADP, Kamara has to be in lineups moving forward. He'll try to find the end zone next week against the Tennessee Titans 13th-ranked run defense.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 4:10pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara gets a tough matchup against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. It's been a disappointing season for Kamara owners though it hasn't been due to his lack of opportunity. The 24-year-old has averaged 17.4 touches per game since returning from injury, which is pretty much a workhorse role. He's been producing more RB2 numbers, topping 70 scrimmage yards in four of those five games. With a no-touchdown streak spanning eight games, Kamara will take on a Colts Defense that has allowed only six touchdowns to running backs, third-fewest in the NFL. Given how talented Kamara is, he needs to be in starting lineups- it seems like a matter of time before he finds his way into the end zone.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 9:33pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 13 times for 25 yards and caught four of six targets for 18 yards vs. the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14 on Sunday, Dec. 8. He also lost a fumble.

Fantasy Spin: The star back hasn't scored since Week 3 and has touchdowns in that game only. He has has maintained double-digit PPR production in every game from Week 3 through Week 13 before this week's potential season-ending clunker. Should gamers have survived, he faces the Colts in Week 15 -- a defense that has been been stout of late vs. running backs of all types.

From TheHuddle

Dec 8 9:10pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara carried the ball 13 times for 25 yards and caught four of six targets for 18 yards in a 48-46 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. It's fair to wonder if something is wrong health-wise with Kamara, who's been a bust in fantasy this year. It could also be a play-calling issue, as he was seemingly stopped dead in his tracks every time he touched the ball. Whatever it is, he's now gone without a touchdown in eight straight games- an inexplicable streak for someone with his talent. Kamara will look to rebound from this in Week 15 against the Indianapolis Colts, who possess a strong run defense.

From RotoBaller

Dec 5 1:40pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14. The 49ers rank first in the league in passing yards allowed per game but only 22nd in rushing yards allowed per contest. They've also been somewhat susceptible to big running plays, as they've allowed the ninth-most rushing plays of 20 yards or more. That bodes well for Kamara, who has been a fantasy bust despite garnering at least 20 touches in two of his last three games. Expect New Orleans to lean on the running game, giving Kamara another chance at 20 touches- and his first touchdown since Week 3. He'll have slightly more upside in PPR, though volume will allow him to put up low-end RB1 numbers this week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 11:30am ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara posted 61 rushing yards on 11 attempts and caught four of eight targets for 23 yards in a 26-18 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Kamara came close to a touchdown on a couple of his carries, taking the ball inside the five-yard line. There's good news and bad news for Kamara. The bad news is, he has only two touchdowns this year and hasn't scored in seven straight games after scoring 18 times last year. The good news is, Kamara received 15 touches to Latavius Murray's four- and he looked far better running the ball than Murray did. It's frustrating, but fantasy owners will have to keep rolling him out there. Kamara will try to bust out of his touchdown slump next week against the stingy San Francisco 49ers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 29 12:43am ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara had 11 carries for 64 yards during the team's Week 13 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Kamara added four receptions for 23 yards; he was targeted eight times.

Fantasy Spin: Like seemingly everyone associated with the Saints' offense, Kamara looked a step slow Thursday night, particularly in the passing game -- he also appeared frozen as Atlanta recovered multiple onside kicks. To be frank, it hasn't been a great year for Kamara, who has just two touchdowns this season, both of which came back in Week 3, after scoring 18 times in 2018. He's far too talented and involved offensively to bench, but he hasn't delivered the kind of value you'd like to see out of a top-10 pick, either.

From TheHuddle

Nov 27 5:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is a must-start on Thanksgiving night against the Atlanta Falcons. The 24-year-old seems healthy and is back to a high workload, averaging 21.5 touches in his last two. Kamara wasn't good against Atlanta back in Week 10, though game script certainly limited his chances. Atlanta will not beat the Saints so decisively again, so Kamara should get at least 20 touches. It's worth noting that he's lost some work in the ground game to Latavius Murray lately, making for a slightly better start in PPR formats. Still, Kamara is due for a touchdown or two and is talented enough to do it, making him a must-start.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 10:23pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 11 time for 54 yards and caught nine passes for 48 yards in a 34-31 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: He continues to deliver pedestrian rushing totals, but Kamara has been piling up receptions since returning from an injury. He hasn't been the top fantasy back by any means, but he remains a steady RB1.
