New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (illness) practiced in full Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Fantasy Spin: Bell sat out the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins due to illness, but he has put in two full practice sessions to start this week. He's a mid-tier RB2 for the game Thursday, Dec. 12, against the Baltimore Ravens.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets S Jamal Adams (ankle), OT Chuma Edoga (knee), TE Ryan Griffin (ankle), CB Arthur Maulet (calf), CB Brian Poole (concussion), RB Bilal Powell (ankle, illness), WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) and DL Quinnen Williams (neck) did not practice Tuesday, Dec. 10. OT Kelvin Beachum (ankles), S Matthias Farley (ankle), DL Steve McLendon (knee, hip), RB Ty Montgomery (foot, hip) and DL Nathan Shepherd (ankle) were limited. RB Le'Veon Bell (illness), CB Maurice Canady (shoulder), OL Tom Compton (ankle), QB Sam Darnold (knee, thumb), QB David Fales (elbow) and LB Paul Worrilow (quad) participated in full.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell is among the players the team is expected to make available via trade this offseason, according to sources.
Fantasy Spin: Bell is averaging only 49.1 yards rushing behind one of the league's worst offensive lines in his first season with the Jets, and it is becoming increasingly clear head coach Adam Gase either can't find a way to keep him involved in the offense or doesn't want to. A trade will be hard to accomplish as well, as the Jets would take a $15.5 million cap hit if they deal him and his hypothetical new team would have to find a way to fit one of the larger contracts at his position onto the roster.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (illness) fully participated in practice Monday, Dec. 9. The Jets did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Fantasy Spin: Bell did not play in the Week 14 game but appears to be on track to play this week. He will have a tough matchup but can still be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues since he will be involved in the running and passing game.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell (flu) is "pretty close to 100 percent," according to head coach Adam Gase. Bell didn't practice last Thursday or Friday and was absent from the Jets 22-21 win over the Dolphins in Week 14. This is great news for the Jets who lost backup Bilal Powell to an ankle injury late vs Miami with a quick turnaround this Thursday at Baltimore. The matchup is brutal for Bell, but assuming he's fully recovered he should get his usual 20-plus touches and be in the RB2 mix based on volume. Ty Montgomery would be the next man up for New York should Bell have a setback and should see some passing downs work, not enough to warrant an add in fantasy, however.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell (illness) has been officially ruled out for the Week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday at 1 pm ET. The timing is not ideal for fantasy football owners, with most leagues starting their first round playoff matchups this week and now missing a top running back. Expect Bilal Powell to step in as the leading running back for the Jets on Sunday, with Ty Montgomery likely seeing increased usage as well.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (illness) was downgraded from questionable to out Saturday, Dec. 7, and won't play Sunday, Dec. 8, against the Miami Dolphins.
Fantasy Spin: It's a big blow to fantasy managers who won't have Bell available in a fantastic matchup. Backups Bilal Powell and Ty Montgomery will handle the work out of the backfield but are both risky flex options as they split time.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 6, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.
Fantasy Spin: It appears like Bell will be a game-time decision, so fantasy players will need to check the inactive list. He should be a starting option in all leagues if he is active, but players should have other options ready in case he is ruled out.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell (illness) was sent home from Jets practice Friday and is questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins. The Jets will have more information on Bell's status on Saturday, but Bilal Powell needs to be picked up immediately if he's available. Whoever starts in the New York backfield will face a good matchup with a Dolphins Defense that allows the fifth-most points to opposing running backs.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets CB Brian Poole (concussion) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins. S Jamal Adams (ankle), OT Chuma Edoga (knee), S Matthias Farley (rib, ankle) and CB Arthur Maulet (calf) did not take part in practice all week and are listed as doubtful. RB Le'Veon Bell did not practice for a second straight day on Friday, Dec. 6, and is listed as questionable. CB Maurice Canady (quad, illness), TE Ryan Griffin (illness), DL Steve McLendon (knee, hip), LB Paul Worrilow (quad), DL Henry Anderson (shoulder), OT Kelvin Beachum (ankles) and WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) were limited Friday and are also listed as questionable, OG Alex Lewis (elbow), WR Jamison Crowder (knee), QB Sam Darnold (knee, thumb) and QB David Fales (elbow) logged a full practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (non-injury) on Friday, Dec. 6, sat out a second consecutive day of practice with an illness, and head coach Adam Gase said he's unsure if Bell will be able to play Sunday, Dec. 8, in Week 14.
Fantasy Spin: Bad timing for Bell owners who will need to be extra vigilant up until kickoff. If Bell can't go, it will likely be a combo of Bilal Powell and Ty Montgomery filling in, but neither would be much more than a dart-throw flex option.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell (non-injury) sat out practice Thursday, Dec. 5, with an illness.
Fantasy Spin: We'll see if he's back at it Friday, and if so, he projects as a high-end RB2 for Sunday's plus-matchup against the visiting Dolphins.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell has had a rough first year in green and white averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and scoring just four total touchdowns through 13 games. Despite the rough season, a juicy matchup with a porous Dolphins run defense should have Bell in fantasy lineups once again this week. Miami gives up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs and the Jets should focus on giving Bell the ball. Last week the Jets only gave Bell 10 carries against a bad Bengals run defense and were rightfully panned in the New York media for their game plan vs Cincinnati. Expect the coaching staff to learn from their mistake and feed Bell 20-plus touches this weekend putting Bell in the low-end RB1 conversation based on volume and matchup.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell rushed 10 times for 32 yards in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals while adding four grabs for 35 yards on five targets.
Fantasy Spin: Bell's performance disappointing, as was the overall production of the Bengals offense against the previously winless Bengals. Bell will look to bounce back in Week 14 against the New York Jets.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell carried the ball 10 times for just 32 yards in a loss to the Bengals Sunday. Bell added four catches for 35 yards in another disappointing game for fantasy owners that used an early pick on the former Steeler. The Bengals had the worst run defense in the NFL coming into this game but the Jets ran the ball just 17 times as the game script tilted away from the run game early. To make matters worse for Bell, he had a season-long 22 -yard run erased via penalty as the Jets offensive line continues to struggle to provide running room. Bell will be in the RB2-mix next week with another good matchup against the Dolphins.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell has been a bit of a disappointment for fantasy managers that invested an early pick on the former Steeler, but things could change in a big way this week for Bell vs a familiar opponent. Bell has struggled to run the ball this year playing behind a worse offensive line than he had in Pittsburgh, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. He is yet to have 100 rushing yards in a game and has just three rushing scores on the year. For his running struggles, Bell makes up for it some as a receiver. He has four receiving touchdowns and is the second-most targeted player on the Jets. Start Bell expecting him to get his usual 20-plus touches against a Bengals Defense that he should be able to have RB1-type success against.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell carried the ball 12 times for 49 yards in a win over the Raiders Sunday. Bell didn't score a touchdown for the first time in three games but added 59 yards on five receptions to put together a solid, if unspectacular, fantasy day. The bad news for Bell owners in this game was the Jets splitting carries more than they have most of the season. Backup running backs Ty Montgomery and Bilal Powell had five carries each after Bell had been receiving the lion's share of the carries this season. The Jets said before the season Bell wouldn't have the intense workload he had in Pittsburgh and the further into the season it gets the more other RBs are getting involved. Bell is still getting RB1 work and is a must-start in fantasy, but owners should keep an eye on his touches.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell rushed 12 times for 49 yards in Week 12 against the Oakland Raiders and he added five receptions for 59 yards on five targets.
Fantasy Spin: Bell went over 100 total scrimmage yards for the first time since Nov. 3 in Miami, but his streak of two games in a row with a touchdown came to an end. He remains more of a RB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 13 on the road against the winless Cincinnati Bengals.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell has struggled at times this season, but has scored a touchdown each of the past two weeks to salvage decent fantasy production. Now Bell will face an Oakland defense that is middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed to running backs, but have been worse defending pass-catching backs. The Raiders have allowed five receiving touchdowns to running backs, tied for second-most in the NFL and Bell is the second-most targeted player on the Jets. Bell has struggled to find running room behind a sub-par offensive line but has been getting 20-plus touches in most weeks and has scored more with Sam Darnold back healthy. Bell is a must-start option in this matchup.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell carried the ball 18 times for 59 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Redskins. Bell also had two catches in the game to give him 20 total touches for the seventh time in 11 games this season. This is the second straight good-not-great performance from Bell where he saved his fantasy day with a touchdown. It's fair to wonder if the Jets start to split carries more with Bilal Powell, the latter received seven carries for the second straight week. Powell averaged six yards per carry to Bell's 3.3 so they may rely more on the fresh legs more moving forward. Despite the inefficiency from Bell, his typical volume makes him a must-start RB in fantasy.
