San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin rewarded risk-seeking fantasy players in Week 2 by racking up 77 yards and a touchdown. Along with rookie wideout Deebo Samuel, Goodwin leads team receivers in snaps by a wide margin (62 percent). The seven-year speed demon is a proven deep threat that can always take the top off a defense, but has endured volatile bouts of game-to-game inconsistency. With steady playing time but without a string of steady performances, Goodwin is back in the mix as a low-floor WR5 with WR2 upside in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sep 15 6:00pm ET

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin grabbed three of three targets for 77 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Goodwin opened the scoring, getting wide open for a 38-yard touchdown in the first quarter. His services werent needed much further in the 41-10 rout but any fantasy owners who took the risk on the big-play threat are satisfied. Goodwin operates as a starting receiver but is a complementary option to tight end George Kittle and a talented backfield. Also ceding looks to exciting rookie wideout Deebo Samuel, Goodwin will be a weekly high-variance WR5.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin grabbed one of three targets for seven yards in Week.1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo struggling, no Niner aside from George Kittle made much noise on Sunday. With the team rotating five receivers, Goodwins fantasy outlook is looking bleaker. He shouldnt be viewed as more than a highly volatile WR5 in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will need to summon the vibes of his breakout 2017 season in order to retain snaps this season. After racing for 962 yards in 2017, the seventh-year speedster recorded just 395 yards last year in 11 games. With the Niners adding depth at receiver in this years draft, rookies Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd will push Goodwin for playing time. While hell start the year as a de facto starter, hell be a tertiary offensive option to tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Dante Pettis and a versatile backfield. Goodwins fantasy value is reserved for best ball formats and teams needing a weekly low-cost lottery ticket.

Aug 20 10:50pm ET

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin played in all 11 snaps with the first team Monday against the Denver Broncos. With the offensive struggling, Goodwin did not record a stat but with a solid camp thus far, is still viewed as a starter. However, with receiver Dante Pettis hovering and rookies Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd making flashy plays, Goodwins job security shouldnt be taken for granted. After popping for 962 yards in 2017, injuries limited the 28-year-old speedster to just 395 yards last season. While he appears to remain important to the Niners, Goodwin doesnt hold much fantasy value.

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin (leg) left practice early Wednesday, Aug. 7, because of a left leg injury, but was able to return later in practice.

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (leg) and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (leg) both suffered injuries on Wednesday. The more concerning injury is to the 2019 second-overall pick Bosa who walked off on his own power but did not return. Pending an update, an extended absence for Bosa could spell doom for his IDP status and impair the Niners already-shaky defense. Although Goodwin returned to practice, hes had a history of lower leg injuries. The 28-year-old speedster had a breakout 2017 campaign with 962 receiving yards but injuries limited him to just 395 yards last season. With a crowded receiving corps competing for six spots, Goodwin isnt a lock to make the 53-man roster and isnt a fantasy option.

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin looked the best of all the receivers during spring practices, in the opinion of Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury News.

San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel is projected to start opposite WR Dante Pettis, according to NBC Sports' Matt Maiocco, who says the team will slide incumbent starting WR Marquise Goodwin into a smaller role to maximize his speed.

Fantasy Spin: Rookie receivers typically get overblown, but if Samuel starts in an offense designed by Kyle Shanahan and triggered by Jimmy Garoppolo you'd have to give him some late-round flier consideration.

Mar 31 8:53pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin doesn't need to play every snap to be effective, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, and Shanahan said he wants to bring in some 'other guys' to take the pressure off Goodwin.
