New York Jets TE Ryan Griffin finished with three catches for 28 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Spin: Griffin had a majority of his action came on one drive in the second quarter and then he was quiet again. The touchdown was nice, but he is still only worth a look as a low-end TE2 in most fantasy leagues heading to Week 7.

Oct 13 9:20pm ET

New York Jets tight end Ryan Griffin caught three passes, including a five-yard touchdown, for a season-high 28 yards in a win over the Cowboys Sunday. Griffin only had six catches for 17 yards on the season coming into today so this game won't make him fantasy relevant. Griffin was starting in place of Chris Herndon (hamstring) so Griffin may not start moving forward. Even if he does start, Griffin is among the lowest-ranked tight end options to stream as a bye week replacement.

New York Jets tight end Ryan Griffin will start again Sunday with Chris Herndon (hamstring) still not playing. Week 6 was supposed to be the time Herndon returned from a four-game suspension, but a hamstring injury will keep Griffin on the field. Despite an extended time as the starter, Griffin hasn't done anything to make fantasy owners take notice. In four games, Griffin has only five catches for 17 scoreless yards. Griffin should not be owned in fantasy and is among the lower-end DFS options at the tight end position.

New York Jets tight end Ryan Griffin caught his only target for five yards in a loss to the Patriots Sunday afternoon. Griffin now has four catches for 15 yards on the season and continues to be a non-factor in fantasy. Griffin had an opportunity to start with Chris Herndon serving a four-game suspension but has done nothing to prove he should be more than a blocking tight end when Herndon returns in Week 6. The Jets are on bye in Week 4 and Griffin will make one more start in Week 5 vs the Eagles but should not be owned in fantasy.

Sep 17 12:33am ET

New York Jets TE Ryan Griffin was targeted just once with no receptions in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns on Monday, Sept. 16.

Fantasy Spin: Griffin was on the field for every snap and he figured to be part of the offense with a backup, and then the third-string, quarterback starting. Usually a less experienced signal caller dumps it off frequently to the benefit of backs and tight ends. Griffin was nearly invisible, and he isn't a recommended fantasy option or DFS play heading into Week 3 in New England.

Sep 17 12:10am ET

New York Jets tight end Ryan Griffin got one target that he didn't catch in a 23-3 loss against the Browns Monday night. Griffin now has only five targets through two games and is not a viable fantasy option in any format, especially given the Jets are likely to be starting a third-string quarterback next week. The Jets tight end situation can be safely ignored in fantasy until regular starter Chris Herndon returns from suspension in Week 6.

Sep 4 8:30am ET

New York Jets tight end Ryan Griffin was listed atop the team's first depth chart released to the media after preseason cuts. Griffin will likely serve as the Jets primary tight end for the first four weeks of the season while starter Chris Herndon serves a four-game suspension. Griffin had a 50 catch season in 2016 but had mostly been a backup with the Texans in his six years there before coming to New York. Griffin had only 24 catches in 14 games last year and is just a touchdown-or-bust option for 4 weeks. Fantasy owners can look elsewhere if streaming tight ends.

Aug 7 12:33am ET

New York Jets TE Ryan Griffin is the favorite to start at tight end while TE Chris Herndon serves his four-game suspension to start the season. 'He's picked it up extremely fast,' head coach Adam Gase said. 'He rolled out here that first day and it was like he knew the offense. I've been impressed by what he's done.'

Jul 22 6:10pm ET

The New York Jets have signed tight end Ryan Griffin, who spent the past six seasons with the Houston Texans. Griffin had 24 catches for 305 yards last season. While he'll ultimately be a backup to Chris Herndon IV, Griffin could be in line for an increase in usage over the first four games while Herndon serves a suspension. Griffin could have some DFS value over that span, but he'll still be fighting for snaps during those games as well, making him a risky fantasy play with upside that likely isn't high enough to make that a risk worth taking.
