Oct 10 11:30pm ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had a predictably tough game against the Patriots on Thursday night. In rainy conditions, up against the leagues top defense, Jones completed only 15 of 31 passes for 161 yards, over a third of which came on his touchdown connection to Golden Tate. Jones also added one touchdown while throwing three interceptions. The rookie was always going to struggle in this game without Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, and Sterling Shepard. Until those three are back in action, hes not a recommended fantasy play.

Oct 9 11:50am ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will be in a rough spot when the Giants travel to take on the Patriots on Thursday night. Likely without his top two receiving options, Evan Engram (MCL) and Sterling Shepard (concussion), Jones will be throwing to a depleted receiving corps and possibly handing off to his third-string running back, Elijhaa Penny, who is a converted fullback. It all has a bit of a comedy of errors feel to it, and you should stay away for fantasy purposes.

Oct 6 5:20pm ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones struggled in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. Once affectionately known as "Danny Dimes," the rookie signal-caller was sloppy and scattered on Sunday, completing 21 of 38 passes for 182 yards, one TD and one INT. He also had happy feet in the pocket and missed Sterling Shepard multiple times for wide-open touchdowns. He still gives the Giants their best chance to win, but this is a good reminder that he's a rookie quarterback on a below-average team, and there will be growing pains. In fact, we're likely to see them on Thursday night when the Giants face the Patriots. Jones is not a recommended option for that game except in the deepest of two-quarterback leagues where you have no choice. Don't watch the game though.

Oct 2 8:40am ET

New York Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones will face his toughest test yet when he takes the field against the Vikings on Sunday. After four weeks, the Vikings are the 11th best fantasy defense against quarterbacks, giving up under 20 points a game to the position. Jones will get Golden Tate back for the first time this season, which will give him another useful weapon, but without Saquon Barkley to command the defense's attention this is not a matchup to target. Jones is best left alone in DFS lineups, and you should be looking elsewhere in even the deepest of one QB leagues.

Sep 29 4:40pm ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones proved to be human in Sundays win over the Redskins. The rookie completed 23 of 31 passes for 225 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Jones added 33 yards on the ground, but this was a disappointing showing against a poor Redskins Defense. Its a good reminder that, while Jones is certainly an upgrade on Eli Manning, hes still a rookie who will experience his fair share of ups and downs. He will not be startable the next two weeks against the Vikings and Patriots and is likely not a starting quarterback in one quarterback leagues yet.

Giants' QB Daniel Jones scored an astounding 39.60 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 3 win in Tampa Bay. Jones threw for 336 yards on 23-of-36 with two touchdowns.

Sep 22 7:50pm ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones played the hero on Sunday for the Giants. He completed 23 of 36 passes for 336 yards with two TDs and zero INTs, while also rushing four times for 28 yards and two TDs, including the eventual game winner with 1:20 to play. Its hard to overstate how much better the Giants looked with Jones under center. He zipped the ball all over the field, but it's his rushing ability that gives the Giants another dimension when compared to human-statue Eli Manning. The secondaries wont always be as bad as Tampas, but Jones needs to be owned in all leagues and can comfortably be started in two-QB leagues with Saquon Barkley out. We should all be ashamed for laughing on draft night. Shame on us.

Sep 18 11:50am ET

The New York Giants will turn to Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback in Week 3. His first test will be against a Tampa Bay Bucs defense that just allowed 333 yards through the air to a banged-up and inaccurate Cam Newton. The Bucs defense has certainly improved this year, but there were many big-play opportunities for Newton and the Panthers last week, which could provide Jones with similar chances at splash plays. Still, with the Giants likely to be run-heavy on Sunday, the team's wide receiver corps banged up and this being Jones' first test not against a backup defense in the preseason, the rookie signal-caller is best left to two-quarterback leagues and ignored in DFS for the time being.

That inevitable moment has finally arrived. Head coach Pat Shurmur has named Daniel Jones the starting quarterback for the New York Giants. While many Giants fans will rightfully be excited by the move, it's important to temper expectations early on. Jones is going to be throwing to one of the league's worst collection of wide receivers on a team that will still allow running backSaquon Barkley to dominate the offensive game plan. Jones looked good in the preseason and can be fired up as a QB2 in certain matchups, but this doesn't lead to a notable bump for any of the Giants skill position players, as Barkley and tight endEvan Engram were always going to be top-five options at their positions. Assuming Eli Manning has started his last game for the Giants, he will finish with a fitting record of 116-116.

The Giants have named rookie quarterback Daniel Jones their starting quarterback for the Week 3 game, benching Eli Manning.

Sep 8 8:30pm ET

New York Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones came on for the final drive in relief of Eli Manning, completing three of his four passes before fumbling. Jones is not known for being a dynamic runner and was diving for the first down when the ball was jarred loose, so you have to give him points for hustle. He looked poised in the pocket on his four passing attempts and will still likely be the Giants starter by the end of the season.

Aug 30 12:30am ET

New York Giants quarterbackDaniel Jones final game of the preseason for was short but sweet. He played one drive and completed four of his four pass attempts for 37 yards and no touchdowns. After the Giants were criticized for using the 6th overall pick on him in this year's draft, the rookie from Duke has had a spectacular preseason, completing 85 percent of his passes while finishing with a 137.3 quarterback rating. He wont be the starting quarterback come Week 1 versus the Cowboys as that job is stillEli Manning's for now, but he has done everything possible to make the Giants decision to draft him look like a good one. Its only a matter of time before the team decides to turn the reins over to him, making him a solid bench stash in deep leagues or 2-QB leagues while also serving as a solid late-round pick in best ball formats.

Aug 25 8:10pm ET

New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur stated that Eli Manning will get some rest, allowing Daniel Jones to start Thursdays preseason finale against the New England Patriots. While this will be an opportunity to energize the Giants fanbase with another preview of their future, there is likely nothing to see here from a fantasy perspective. The Giants are simply resting their starter and allowing the rookie backup to get some more game reps. How Eli plays once the regular season starts will be the only factor that will determine when Jones steps into the starting role for good.

Aug 24 5:30am ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones went 9-for-11 for 141 yards in the win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The rookie has been solid throughout the preseason, accumulating 369 yards and two touchdowns while maintaining a healthy 83.3 completion percentage to go along with a 140.1 quarterback rating. With Eli Manning also having a productive preseason, Jones will ride the bench, at least initially, until the veteran demonstrates that he is no longer a viable option as the team's main signal-caller, leaving Jones with little fantasy appeal outside of dynasty formats at the moment.

The New York Giants took on the Chicago Bears for their second preseason game on Friday. The Giants showed a lot of promising signs, beating Chicago 32-13. QuarterbackEli Manning took the field to start the game and went 4-for-4 for 42 yards, capping the drive with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Bennie Fowler. Next up was the No. 6 overall pick Daniel Jones, who went 11-for-14 for 161 yards and a touchdown pass to TJ Jones. As they search for answers for their receiving woes, wide receiver Cody Latimer has stepped up to the plate, hauling in two receptions for a total of 60 yards in the game. The Giants looked very strong offensively against the Bears, the only question that remains is whether they can translate this success to the regular season.

New York Giants owner John Mara spoke to reporters Tuesday on the ongoing position battle between Giants quarterbacks Eli Manning and rookieDaniel Jones. Mara stated that he would like to see Manning have a "strong season" and let the rookie learn from the two-time Super Bowl champion. Since selecting Jones sixth overall, it seems as though the Giants are looking towards long-term gain. Although only having one drive in his preseason debut against the Jets, Jones went 5-for-5 and ended the drive with a touchdown pass. Jones may see some action in 2019 depending on how Manning performs, but he's only worth a draft pick in dynasty leagues.

Aug 9 1:00am ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones went a perfect 5-for-5 for 67 yards and a touchdown against the Jets on Thursday, connecting on a 12 yard pass to Bennie Fowler late in the first quarter. While this performance wont completely silence the collective groans of those in the New York/New Jersey area, it was a good start to what will hopefully be a healthy career for the rookie. With Eli Manning still being the main signal-caller for the Giants at the moment, Jones could find himself starting for the club at some point in 2019, but at the moment, he has little-to-no fantasy value outside of dynasty formats.

Aug 8 8:10pm ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been the subject of much scrutiny from both the media and fans alike since being selected as the teams first-round draft pick, going sixth overall in the NFL Draft earlier this year. Thursday is the first test for Jones coming out of camp where he has made some impressive plays for a young quarterback, but is currently in one of the most watched positional battle with two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Eli Manning. Giants Head Coach Pat Shurmur has not commented on whether Manning will play in their first preseason game against the New York Jets, but regardless if Manning plays or not, expect a Jones to get some work.

Jul 18 9:30pm ET

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones remains unsigned with one week remaining before training camp opens. He is one of five first-round picks yet to agree to terms with his organization. Jones is still scheduled to arrive to training camp on Monday when all rookies and select veterans report. He is expected to sign a four-year, $25.5 million contract, with a $16.6 million guarantee, when he arrives, or even shortly before. That is the financial slot for the No. 6 overall pick in the draft. Last season RB Saquon Barkley signed a day before he arrived at camp, so there isn't cause for alarm with Big Blue.
