Player Notes
Oct 18 8:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 18, and is not on the injury report for Week 7.

Fantasy Spin: Gurley will receive a majority of the work at running back with Malcolm Brown listed as doubtful. He has rushed for four touchdowns in his last two games and should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 5:33pm ET

Los Angeles Rams LB Clay Matthews (jaw) was unable to practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 7 versus the Atlanta Falcons. RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) also did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. S Eric Weddle (non-injury) did not practice Friday, Oct. 18, but was removed from the injury report. CB Jalen Ramsey (non-injury) and RB Todd Gurley (quad) practiced in full Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 4:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (thigh) is expected to play in Week 7 versus the Atlanta Falcons, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Fantasy Spin: Gurley's injury ended up only costing him one game. The Falcons are less than a week removed from giving up 102 total yards and two scores to less-than-100-percent David Johnson on only 18 touches. Darrell Henderson might see some more work as well if Malcolm Brown (ankle) is forced to sit, but he would be a desperation flex play at best in fantasy.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 4:00pm ET

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay expects running back Todd Gurley (thigh) and cornerback Jalen Ramsey (back) to play in Week 7 against the Falcons. Gurley missed last week's game but should be back on the field in an excellent matchup with the free-falling Falcons Defense. Gurley will be more of a low-end RB2 for this game and will be at risk of losing valuable snaps to both Malcolm Brown and rookie Darrell Henderson. But the good news is that fantasy owners should have Gurley back. Ramsey is set to make his debut with the Rams after coming over in a trade from Jacksonville. He's tentatively expected to match up with Falcons top wideout Julio Jones on the outside. It's a downgrade for Jones in fantasy, but he should still be a must-start in all leagues. Avoid the Rams Defense as a streaming option in fantasy this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 17 9:43pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) remained a limited participant in practice with a left quadriceps contusion Thursday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Spin: His status for Week 7 remains up in the air, but if Gurley is able to return to action, he needs to be in starting lineups against a struggling Atlanta defense.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 11:40am ET

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that running back Todd Gurley (thigh) is "on a good pace to hopefully be able to play on Sunday" in Week 7 against the Falcons after he was inactive last week. McVay also said Gurley is "feeling good" and is "going to participate in a limited fashion" in practice again on Thursday. Gurley is trending towards returning this weekend, but there's a good chance he'll be limited. Malcolm Brown is also dealing with an injury, but if both are active they should split the backfield duties between the two of them with rookie Darrell Henderson mixing in. That would make Gurley more of a low-end RB2 with more volatility, albeit in a great matchup against the Falcons.

From RotoBaller

Oct 16 9:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Fantasy Spin: Gurley was not able to play last week but appears to have a chance to be active for Week 7. He should be a starting option if he plays, but fantasy players should have other options available in case Gurley misses another game.

From TheHuddle

Oct 14 8:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) hopefully will be available to play in the Week 7 game, according to head coach Sean McVay.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation during the week to see if Gurley will be able to practice this week. He likely would have a favorable matchup if he is able to play and would be a starting option in leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 14 9:23am ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) has a chance to return in Week 7, and the team hasn't ruled him out. However, the injury is on the same leg as his troublesome knee, which doesn't allow for a lot of stability.

Fantasy Spin: The Atlanta Falcons have been good against the run, and Gurley would be a high-end RB2 if he's fit to go. Malcolm Brown would be a flex option in either event.

From TheHuddle

Oct 13 2:53pm ET

The Los Angeles Rams have declared CB Aqib Talib, DT Tanzel Smart, OT Bobby Evans, CB David Long, RB Todd Gurley, LB Clay Matthews and C Coleman Shelton inactive for Week 6.

From TheHuddle

Oct 13 8:33am ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Malcolm Brown is expected to be the team's featured back in Week 6's game against the San Francisco 49ers, as a result of RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) being ruled out. RB Darrell Henderson will also likely see an increased number of offensive snaps.

Fantasy Spin: Brown merits consideration as an RB2 in most fantasy leagues this week, while Henderson is worth stashing if he's still available on your league's waiver wire.

From TheHuddle

Oct 12 11:20pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (quadriceps) will not play against San Francisco. Gurley suffered a thigh contusion during the Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, and while there was hope that the veteran would play, he will now watch from the sidelines in Week 6. Look for Malcolm Brown to pick up the majority of the snaps in Gurley's absence, with Darrell Henderson coming in for relief when needed. Brown could be a viable starter for those dealing with injuries or looking to make it through the bye, while Henderson has limited value in deeper formats on Sunday against a tough 49ers Defense.

From RotoBaller

Oct 12 4:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) has been ruled out for the Week 6 game.

Fantasy Spin: Malcolm Brown probably will receive a majority of the carries during the game and can be considered a No. 2 fantasy running back.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 11:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Darrell Henderson said he is going to be prepared for whatever role is asked of him if RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) is unable to play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.

Fantasy Spin: After receiving a ton of hype in fantasy circles throughout the offseason, Henderson has seen just one touch this year. With Gurley's status in doubt, this could be the rookie's chance to show he deserves a bigger role. If he has been dropped in your league, Henderson is worth stashing as a potential waiver wire lottery ticket.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 6:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 11, and is listed as doubtful for Week 6.

Fantasy Spin: Gurley likely will not able to play, so Malcolm Brown likely will receive most of the work at running back. Brown should be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 4:00pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful for Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers. There is still a chance he suits up as a game-time decision, but it looks pretty bleak for him. In his expected stead, running back Malcolm Brown figures to see the bulk of the action. Rookie running back Darrell Henderson could also receive an extended look for the first time this season. It's a tough matchup, though, as the 49ers are the stingiest against the position over the last three weeks. Brown will serve as a low-end RB2, and Henderson is deserving of a flex spot this week. If Gurley receives last-minute clearance, he's merely a flex option under the circumstances. Plan on being without him this week.

From RotoBaller

Oct 10 7:23pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadricep) was officially listed as a non-participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Spin: It has reached the point of concern for fantasy managers regarding Gurley's availability for Week 6. While he hasn't been racking up his usual yardage totals, he has still been able to reach the end zone regularly. Malcolm Brown will need to be in lineups as a high-end RB2 if Gurley is sidelined.

From TheHuddle

Oct 10 3:03pm ET

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quad) is not expected to practice for a second straight day Thursday, Oct. 10, and his status for Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers is reportedly 'very much up in the air,' according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Spin: Rapoport made it a point to mention the Rams do not think this is a serious issue. Although Los Angeles would like all hands on deck in Week 6 against the undefeated San Francisco 49ers, it might not be a bad idea to let him sit this one out in a further effort to manage his workload. Malcolm Brown would likely see at least 15 touches and serve as a capable RB2 in fantasy, while rookie Darrell Henderson could see his first real action of the season.

From TheHuddle

Oct 10 2:30pm ET

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley's (quadriceps) status is up in the air for Week 6 against the 49ers after he missed practice on Wednesday. The Rams were hinting on Wednesday that Malcolm Brown and rookie Darrell Henderson could be more involved this weekend, and it might be because Gurley will either miss the game entirely or be even more limited. Not only is his health in question, but the Niners have been the worst matchup for running backs this season. If you're desperate at the position, Brown should be picked up immediately if he's still available. Henderson could be in the flex mix in deeper leagues if Gurley is inactive.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 8:30pm ET

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that running back Todd Gurley (quadriceps) is day-to-day with a left quadriceps contusion. Gurley did not practice on Wednesday. It doesn't sound like a very serious injury, but it's worth watching for a player that has had his workload scaled back due to knee issues this year. The Niners, the Rams' Week 6 opponent, have allowed the fewest fantasy points per game (9.5) to running backs, so it won't be an easy matchup either for way for Gurley and the Rams on the ground. If he doesn't play this weekend, it would be Malcolm Brown and rookie Darrell Henderson sharing the snaps.
