Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 14, as he deals with a back injury.

Fantasy Spin: With a second straight missed practice, it's starting to look like Stafford may miss a second straight game. We should know more after Friday's always-key practice and weekly injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 1:40pm ET

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) remained out of practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Stafford is headed towards his second straight missed game after not sitting out since 2010. His absence would be a downgrade for all of Detroit's skill players in a tough matchup against the Cowboys. Jeff Driskel didn't embarrass himself against a strong Bears Defense in Week 10, but he'd be a low-end QB2 if he's forced to make a second straight start. Stafford must at least get in a limited practice on Friday to have a chance at playing this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Nov 13 1:33pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) is out of practice Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Fantasy Spin: He would return against a poor matchup in the Dallas Cowboys. Keep an eye on his status throughout the week, but he'd be a low-end QB1 option.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 11:33am ET

The Detroit Lions have declared DL Romeo Okwara, QB Matthew Stafford, OG Beau Benzschawel, CB Michael Jackson, S Tracy Walker, SS Miles Killebrew and DE Da'Shawn Hand inactive for Week 10.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 11:23am ET

Updating previous reports, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) is considered week-to-week because of fractured bones in his back. One source said he could miss 'this week or three weeks.'

Fantasy Spin: Jeff Driskel will be the Lions' starting quarterback while Stafford is sidelined but he is not a recommended fantasy option in any format. In addition, the fantasy value of players such as WRs Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay is likely to take a major hit until he returns.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 9:33am ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) has fractured bones in his back and doctors will not clear him to play in Week 10's game against the Chicago Bears, according to a source. QB Jeff Driskel will start in Stafford's place.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford had been listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited practice participant throughout the week. At this point, it is unknown how much additional time he will miss. Driskel will serve as the team's starter in Stafford's absence but he should not be viewed as a viable option in any fantasy format.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 9:33am ET

Detroit Lions QB Jeff Driskel will start Week 10's game against the Chicago Bears, as a result of QB Matthew Stafford (back) being declared out due to fractured bones in his back.

Fantasy Spin: Even though six NFL teams are currently on their bye week, Driskel is not a recommended option in any format because of the challenging matchup this afternoon. Fantasy owners may want to consider benching WRs Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones since their production is likely to take a tumble without Stafford under center.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 9:20am ET

In a surprise turn, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is now being considered unlikely to play when the Lions visit Chicago on Sunday afternoon. After lingering concerns about a back injury, team doctors will not let Stafford play today due to fractured bones in his back. Given the apparent seriousness of the injury, it's unclear when Stafford will be able to return to action. Jeff Driskel will start for the Lions in his place, and all Lions pass-catchers get a significant downgrade. Kenny Golladay is now a WR3 at best, Marvin Jones is a FLEX option, and T.J. Hockenson is a desperation play at tight end. Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic become flex options at best based on the Lions assumed reliance on the run game.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 1:30am ET

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) is reportedly being advised by some not to play in Sunday's game against the Bears, says ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Lions plan to make a decision during pregame warmups. Stafford's been having a solid year and rates as a high-end QB2 against a tough Bears Defense, but if he misses Sunday's game, Jeff Driskel would be in line to start, a move that would represent a downgrade to the entire Lions offense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 9 4:13pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hip/back) could be a real game-time decision Sunday, Nov. 10, against the Chicago Bears, according to sources Saturday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Jeff Driskel is listed as the backup on the Lions' depth chart, but he won't be a fantasy option if Stafford is unable to go. Be prepared to bench Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones if Stafford sits.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 5:03pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back, hip) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford should be able to play this week, but fantasy players will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has thrown at least three touchdowns in four of the last five games and can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 4:43pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back, hip) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford should be able to play this week despite the injuries, but fantasy players will know more about his status in the next few days. He will be facing a good Chicago Bears defense this week but could still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback if he is active.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 1:50pm ET

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (back, hip) is practicing again on Thursday, and it sounds as though his injuries are minor. Stafford is having the best season of his career up to this point, and the Lions should be expected to remain a pass-heavy team with Kerryon Johnson out for the rest of the year. Their Week 10 opponent in the Bears isn't an ideal matchup for an explosive offensive day, but with six teams on bye this weekend and with the way Stafford has played, he's still worth low-end QB1 consideration on the road against this tough divisional opponent.

From RotoBaller

Nov 6 4:30pm ET

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (back, hip) practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday. Stafford should be fine to suit up in Week 10 against the Bears. The 31-year-old is having the finest season of his career so far with 2,499 yards passing (64.3 completion percent), 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. However, he has a tough matchup on the road against the division-rival Bears, where he'll be on the QB1/2 borderline. With six teams on bye, however, it's hard to imagine Stafford won't be started in most leagues. Keep an eye on his practice status the rest of the week, but he should be good to go, barring a setback.

From RotoBaller

Nov 6 4:13pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hip/back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford has been taking it easy in practice early in the past several weeks. He has 10 touchdowns against three interceptions over his last three games and will remain a mid-tier QB1 in a difficult Week 10 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 9:13pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 26 of his 41 passes for 406 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in a 31-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders in Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford has been on a roll recently, topping 340 yards and throwing at least three touchdowns in each of the last three games. Even with the solid defense of the Chicago Bears on tap in Week 10, Stafford is worth a look as a low-end QB1.

From TheHuddle

Nov 3 9:00pm ET

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford continued his excellent season on Sunday, passing for 406 yards and three touchdowns in the Lions loss to the Raiders. Stafford has now passed for at least 342 yards and three touchdowns in three consecutive games and looks poised for a career year in his second year under head coach Matt Patricia. The recent surge in throwing the ball is likely due to the Lions placement of Kerryon Johnson (knee) on IR, but fantasy owners aren't complaining. Stafford has a tough matchup in Chicago against the Bears coming up in Week 10, he will slot in as a low-end QB1 for that matchup.

From RotoBaller

Nov 1 8:23pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 1, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford has thrown for at least 290 yards in three of the last four games and has 10 touchdowns during that span. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback or a bye week replacement in fantasy leagues this week.

From TheHuddle

Nov 1 4:33pm ET

Detroit Lions DB Tracy Walker (knee) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders. DT Mike Daniels (foot) was limited all week and is listed as doubtful. RB Tra Carson (hamstring), DT Damon Harrison (groin, rest), CB Amani Oruwariye (knee) and DT A'Shawn Robinson (ankle) were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 1, and are listed as questionable. OL Graham Glasgow (back) and CB Darius Slay (hamstring) practiced in full Friday and are also listed as questionable. DL Da'Shawn Hand (non-injury) and QB Matthew Stafford (hip) fully practiced Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 5:03pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hip) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 31.

Fantasy Spin: Stafford has thrown at least three touchdowns in three of the last four games and has thrown for at least 265 yards in five games this season. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in fantasy leagues in Week 9.
