Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson didn't touch the ball in a 36-26 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson was expected to have to share touches with Kenyan Drake, but Drake ended up monopolizing the backfield work. Johnson owners can only stash Johnson on the bench and hope that an injury played a part in his lack of playing time. Regardless, it seems like he has taken a backseat to Drake.

From TheHuddle

Nov 17 9:30pm ET

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson received no carries or targets in Week 11. That could go down as one of the biggest surprises all week. Johnson had been battling an ankle injury, but he was taken off the injury report. Unless something comes out about him still being limited due to injury, he has taken a serious backseat to Kenyan Drake. Johnson should remain owned in all leagues, and if he's dropped by an owner, scoop him immediately. The Cardinals are on a bye next week, and more should be learned before then.

Nov 15 3:23pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RBs Kenyan Drake and David Johnson will be used in a committee in Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who noted to reporters Friday, Nov. 15, that being named a starter at running back in his offense doesn't matter because of sub-packages.

Fantasy Spin: The Cardinals have seemingly been playing games with fantasy owners at running back ever since David Johnson first hurt his ankle last month. Just about anyone who watched Johnson run in Week 10 could see he is nowhere close to 100 percent, so fantasy owners should be able to plug Drake into their lineups and feel relatively good about his ability to deliver RB2 production.

From TheHuddle

Nov 13 9:30pm ET

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson (ankle, back) is not listed on the team's initial injury report for Week 11 against the 49ers. Johnson just didn't look like himself in the Week 10 loss to the Buccaneers, and he had just five carries on the day. He's certainly not 100 percent, and fantasy owners should look to fade him in a tough Week 11 game against the 49ers. At best, you should view DJ as an RB3/flex this weekend with backup Kenyan Drake likely to continue stealing touches from the banged-up Johnson.

Nov 11 10:33pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson was benched by head coach Kliff Kingsbury in the Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in favor of RB Kenyan Drake. Johnson lost a fumble in the third quarter and Kingsbury like what he saw from Drake. 'We just felt like with Drake, needed to get something going and kept him rolling,' Kingsbury said Monday, Nov. 11. 'The last couple weeks, practices, games (he) has brought a little pop to the run game, the pass game, and we felt like he was the guy to try and close the game out with.'

Fantasy Spin: Kingsbury added that the decision was his and had nothing to do with Johnson's recent rash of injuries. He said he'll figure out the best role for both Johnson and Drake over the next few weeks. It's bad news for Johnson's fantasy owners, as he already has struggled to live up to his early-round draft status.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 10:50pm ET

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson rushed five times for two yards and caught one pass for eight yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday. Johnson also lost a fumble. He was targeted just once in the passing game, and Kenyan Drake was targeted seven times. This is likely the kind of backseat Johnson will have to take alongside Drake. Johnson will be a very risky RB2 next week against the San Francisco 49ers.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 7:43pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson rushed five times for just two yards in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he added one catch for eight yards.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson was taken off the injury report Friday, but he clearly wasn't 100 percent. Kenyan Drake saw 16 total touches to Johnson's six, and he was slightly more productive running the ball. Right now it's hard to trust Johnson, and the presence of Drake doesn't help.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 7:23pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 10.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson should receive most of the work at running back this week after missing a few games because of the injury. He is a must-start option in all leagues as long as he is active.

From TheHuddle

Nov 8 7:00pm ET

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson (ankle) practiced in full all week and is good to go for Week 10. It will be very interesting to see how the team uses him and Kenyan Drake together. Johnson is an elite back that can produce on the ground and through the air, and Drake is more of a receiving back that had a huge week on the ground last week. They aren't a perfect fit. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been solid against RBs the last five weeks with the seventh-best showing against the position in terms of fantasy points. Johnson is an RB1 at face value, but this is a tricky week with some unknowns that may peg him in RB2 territory.

From RotoBaller

Nov 8 4:03pm ET

Arizona Cardinals DE Zach Allen (neck), CB Tramaine Brock (hamstring) and RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 10 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. LB Brooks Reed (hamstring) was downgraded to a limited practice Friday, Nov. 8, and has also been ruled out. OL Justin Murray (knee) did not practice all week, while LB Terrell Suggs (hamstring) did not practice Friday; both players are listed as questionable. WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury), LB Chandler Jones (non-injury), DT Corey Peters (non-injury) and RB David Johnson (ankle) practiced in full Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 7 6:53pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 7.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson missed the last few games because of the injury but should see his normal workload this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He should have a favorable matchup and is a must-start option.

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Spin: Make sure Johnson is in your Week 10 lineup. He should return to his full starting role.

From TheHuddle

Nov 6 4:10pm ET

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson (ankle) said he's 100 percent healthy and will definitely play in Week 10 against the Buccaneers. It that ends up being true, Johnson will jump back into the fantasy mix as a low-end RB1 after missing the last several weeks. Kenyan Drake was acquired before last Thursday's game and worked as the workhorse in a surprisingly productive game against the undefeated 49ers, so he's still likely to be involved and has flex appeal against Tampa. Chase Edmonds is expected to miss at least another game due to injury. Keep an eye on Johnson's practice status the rest of the week.

From RotoBaller

Nov 6 3:43pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) committed to playing in Week 10 on Wednesday, Nov. 6, saying 'I'm definitely playing... I'm 100%'

Fantasy Spin: Johnson's return would make one of Chase Edmonds or Kenyan Drake irrelevant again, with the other serving only as a handcuff and not a weekly starting option. Drake's impressive Week 9 performance shouldn't spell the end of Edmonds, as "you can't lose your job due to injury," according to the old adage.

From TheHuddle

Nov 4 7:03pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) participated in position drills during practice Monday, Nov.4.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson has missed the last few games but appears to be on track to play in Week 10. He is a must-start option in all leagues when he is healthy.

From TheHuddle

Nov 2 1:10pm ET

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said that running back David Johnson (ankle) is expected to return in Week 10 against the Buccaneers. Johnson has been inactive the last two games and was a non-factor on several touches the week before. He should be back on the RB1 map next week against Tampa, although recently acquired running back Kenyan Drake could steal some valuable touches after putting up a fantastic performance against San Francisco's tough defense on Thursday night. Chase Edmonds sat out on Thursday and is expected to miss another game.

From RotoBaller

Nov 1 9:13pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) should be able to play in the team's Week 10 game, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Fantasy Spin: Johnson has missed the last few games but likely will receive most of the work at running back next week. He should be a weekly starting option when he is healthy.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 7:03pm ET

The Arizona Cardinals have declared RB Chase Edmonds, DL Zach Allen, WR Damiere Byrd, S Charles Washington, RB David Johnson, OL Justin Murray and DL Michael Dogbe inactive for Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Oct 31 7:03pm ET

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) was ruled inactive for Thursday, Oct. 31's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Spin: Backup Chase Edmonds was ruled out Wednesday. Kenyan Drake figures to get the bulk of the running game duties for Arizona, but fantasy managers can find better options available for Sunday or even Monday's games.
