Player Notes
Nov 17 11:40pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber did not have a rushing attempt the entire afternoon in Week 11 but was able to save his day with a six-yard touchdown catch. Barber caught 2-of-2 targets for 11 yards on the day but was totally uninvolved after scoring late in the fourth quarter with the Bucs in a deep hole. Barber's usage has continued to decrease weekly as Ronald Jones II has become the clear No.1 option in this backfield. Fantasy owners who are still holding on to Barber can drop him now. Needless to say, he will not be a recommended start in Week 12 against the Falcons.

From RotoBaller

Nov 17 6:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber caught two passes for 11 yards and one touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in Week 11.

Fantasy Spin: Barber has been used mostly in the running game but was involved in the passing game this week since the team only ran the ball eight times. He should resume his role as a runner next week but can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 14 11:40am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber took over in Week 10 after Ronald Jones II fumbled late in the fourth quarter, which puts the Bucs backfield right back where it started, a frustrating timeshare. Jones and Barber had the same amount of touches in Week 10, but Jones was clearly the go-to on passing downs. The Saints present an extremely tough matchup for the entire Bucs backfield in Week 11, especially being at home in a potential get-right spot. Barber is not a recommended start this week in a game where fantasy owners can expect a shutdown effort by the Saints Defense.

From RotoBaller

Nov 10 9:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber split carries with RB Ronald Jones again in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals. Barber ended up with 11 rushes for 43 yards and a touchdown, while Jones had 29 yards on 11 totes and a score.

Fantasy Spin: Barber was outgained in the receiving game by Jones, who is better in PPR formats. Barber is a low-end RB3 in most standard fantasy formats. The Bucs host the Saints in Week 11.

From TheHuddle

Nov 10 7:20pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber led the Bucs in rushing yards in their Week 10 win over the Cardinals. Barber was expected to take more of a backseat to Ronald Jones II in this one but only saw fewer looks in the passing game, as both backs totaled 11 touches on the ground. Barber totaled 47 yards and scored the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter after Jones fumbled on the Bucs second-to-last drive of the game. It was all Barber from then on, which puts this backfield right back to where it started. A frustrating timeshare. Jones will slot in as a low-end bye week fill-in option when the Bucs travel to New Orleans to face the Saints in Week 11.

From RotoBaller

Nov 3 11:00pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber posted a measly 15 yards on four carries in the Bucs Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. Barber, who is usually in a timeshare with Ronald Jones II, took a major back seat in this one, seeing 16 fewer touches on the day. The unpredictability of the Bucs backfield usage coupled with the fact that they focus more on the aerial attack has made Barber borderline unstartable in any fantasy format, and that will be the case in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals. Fantasy owners can definitely do better.

From RotoBaller

Oct 31 2:20am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber and the Bucs will travel to Seattle in Week 9 to face the Seahawks. Barber is firmly entrenched in a timeshare with backfield mate Ronald Jones II, and with nothing changing in that regard after the Bucs bye week, fantasy owners can expect this to be the case for the rest of the season. The Seahawks do allow a healthy 4.9 yards per carry, but the game script will likely hurt Barber in a matchup where the Bucs will likely be dominated. Barber will slot in as a touchdown-dependent flex option this week. What else is new.

From RotoBaller

Oct 27 6:53pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber ran 10 times for 20 yards in Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans and he added an eight-yard grab.

Fantasy Spin: Barber and Ronald Jones basically split the carries down the middle and neither was able to shine. Treat both as low-end RB3 or flex fantasy options in leagues of 12 or more teams. The Bucs travel to meet the Seahawks in Week 9.

From TheHuddle

Oct 27 6:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber had just 20 yards on 10 carries in the loss to the Titans on Sunday. As usual, Barber received nearly an equal amount of carries as Ronald Jones II, who compiled an unimpressive 35 yards on 11 attempts. The distribution of work has been the norm for the team this season, with this arrangement likely to continue against the Seahawks in Week 9. For now, Barber is worth a stash in deeper formats, but only if you have room to spare.

From RotoBaller

Oct 25 12:00am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber faces a solid Tennessee Titans squad in Week 8. Barber has established himself through the first seven weeks of the season as borderline unstartable in any fantasy format and should be treated as such. The Bucs backfield has been a guessing game all season long in regards to who will lead the team in touches on a weekly basis, and by now fantasy owners should have a clear idea on how exactly to treat both Barber and backfield mate Ronald Jones II. Barber is not a recommended start this week, or any week until something changes in that backfield.

From RotoBaller

Oct 15 9:23pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Dare Ogunbowale led the backfield with 46 offensive snaps played in the Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Peyton Barber played 19 snaps and Ronald Jones saw just 13.

Fantasy Spin: Ogunbowale was rarely used when on the field, rushing just once for a three-yard touchdown while catching three of five passes for 22 yards. The Bucs trailed by large amounts for much of the game so this one-game sample shouldn't be worth much. Jones remains the most appealing of the three.

From TheHuddle

Oct 13 2:30pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber was unable to get anything going against the Panthers in Week 6, gaining just 28 yards on 10 carries on the day. Barber did get more carries than backfield mate Ronald Jones II, but could not find any holes and was otherwise a non-factor in what turned out to be a pass-heavy game. Barber has established himself through the first 6 weeks of the season as borderline unstartable in any fantasy format and should be treated as such. The Bucs have a bye in Week 7 before another tough matchup against the Titans in Tennessee in Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 13 2:03pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed for 28 yards on eight carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.

Fantasy Spin: Barber has rushed for at least 50 yards in only one of the five games this season and has received under 10 carries in each of the last three games. Fantasy players should be able to find better options and can avoid Barber.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 6:10pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber will have an easier matchup in Week 6 than he did in Week 5 with the Carolina Panthers on deck, but fantasy owners may want to look around for other options. Barber's value is solely tied to touchdowns, and he has scored in two consecutive games, but trusting the fourth-year back who has seen a drop in his YPC in each season since joining the league is easier said than done. The Bucs could very well decide to lean on the run, but their backfield hierarchy changes every week, making Barber a risky start. He will slot in as a low-end flex option this week, but if he is unable to find the end zone he will likely have a very disappointing day. Buyer beware.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 7:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed eight times for 32 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints and he added one grab for minus-1 yard.

Fantasy Spin: It was tough sledding for both Barber and Ronald Jones II, who went for 4.0 yards per carry or less in the seven-point road loss. At least Barber made the best of his day with a touchdown. It appears these two will continue to split the carries down the middle heading into Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers in London. As such, both are flex fantasy plays at best.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 8:40am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber looked solid in his Week 2 performance but has otherwise been outshined by fellow backfield mate Ronald Jones II. Barber, who looks to have taken a firm back seat to Jones, saved his Week 4 performance by scoring a touchdown after totaling just 19 yards on the ground. The Bucs backfield structure could change in a moment's notice, but for the time being Barber is not a recommended fantasy option and cannot be trusted in Week 5 with the New Orleans Saints on deck. Fantasy owners looking for a bye week fill-in this week should look elsewhere.

From RotoBaller

Sep 29 10:13pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed nine times for 19 yards and a touchdown and failed to catch his only target in a 55-40 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4.

Fantasy Spin: Barber is still seeing a decent amount of touches, but Ronald Jones is eating into his workload. Barber is more of a touchdown-dependent flex option at this point.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 2:10am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber doesn't necessarily have the toughest Week 4 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams on deck, but fantasy owners should steer clear nonetheless. The Bucs are likely to try and establish the run early in hopes of keeping the Rams offense off the field, but the high-scoring Rams unit should have no problem forcing the Bucs to the air. Couple that with the fact that the Bucs backfield is a weekly guessing game as to who will get the most touches, and you have a situation that fantasy owners are going to want to stay far away from. Barber will remain a low-upside, bye-week streaming option until further notice.

From RotoBaller

Sep 23 12:30am ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Peyton Barber touched the ball as many times as backfield mate Ronald Jones II but was unable to take the reigns, running the ball 13 times for 48 yards while adding just seven yards through the air in a Week 3 loss against the Giants. This type of performance was for from unexpected, and with the Bucs backfield currently the guessing game that it is, Barber will remain nothing more than a low-end bye week streaming option. He is not a recommended start in Week 4 when the Bucs take on the Rams in Los Angeles.

From RotoBaller

Sep 22 11:33pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber rushed 13 times for 48 yards in Week 3 against the New York Giants while adding two receptions for seven yards on his two targets.

Fantasy Spin: Ronald Jones had the hotter hot and ended up essentially splitting the backfield touches down the middle with Barber. That's just 3.7 yards per carry for Barber in this one. He remains more of a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy play in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 4 on the road against the Rams.
