2022 RTSports Outlook

Landry had injury issues last year, playing 12 games. He wasn't quite himself upon his return as well. He had just one 100-yard game and double-digit fantasy points six times. Landry has been in the league eight seasons but just turns 30 this year. He still has plenty left in the tank and can be a productive NFL receiver. He signed with the Saints this offseason and should be the No. 2 or 3 option for the team at receiver. Landry has at least 72 receptions three of four seasons with the Browns. He has 80-plus receptions all but two seasons in the NFL and 1,000-yard seasons three times. Landry is one of the best possession receivers in the game. He isn't a big target but runs good routes and has solid hands. He isn't the biggest receiver but is a tough player that will fight for every inch. Fantasy Outlook: Landry has been in the top 20 in fantasy receiver scoring five of the last seven seasons. He might not have huge yardage or touchdown totals but his receptions totals will be solid, making him a top-30 option for fantasy teams. Expect around 70 receptions for 900 yards and five or so touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

When Wide Receiver Jarvis Landry signed with the New Orleans Saints this offseason, it was a bigger real-life football story than it was for his fantasy football outlook. Entering his age 30 season in 2022, gone are the days of Landry being a PPR machine. While he maintained a healthy target share of 24 percent in 2021, his snap rate was below 70 percent for the second consecutive year. Landry is going from one low-volume passing attack to another as both the Cleveland Browns and Saints finished in the bottom-six in passing play rate in 2021 and 2020. It remains to be seen if the Saints will have a change in offensive philosophy with new play-caller Pete Carmichael taking over for Sean Payton and a full offseason with Jameis Winston as the unquestioned starter at quarterback. The wide receiver room in New Orleans was one of the weakest in football in 2021, but with the return of Michael Thomas from injury and the arrival of first-round rookie Chris Olave, Landry will have plenty of competition for targets in 2022. Considering running back Alvin Kamara is one of the best pass-catching options out of the backfield in the NFL, Landry could find himself fourth in the pecking order. He'll bring a veteran presence to the team, but fantasy expectations should be curbed for Landry in 2022. Currently being drafted as WR58, there is value to be had, but not much upside.

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry looked dominant in the team's practice at organized team activities on Thursday, and his presence has been felt throughout offseason practices since he signed with the team. The veteran slot man led the team with four catches at Thursday's practice. Take this news with a grain of salt; these offseason practices aren't in pads and don't involve any contact, and No. 1 wideout Michael Thomas remains absent as he rehabs an ankle injury. But if Thomas continues to be hampered by his injury, Landry could become a target hog next to first-round rookie Chris Olave in his first year in New Orleans. Injuries limited Landry to career-lows in catches (52), receiving yards (570), touchdowns (two) and games played (12) in his final year in Cleveland in 2021.

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Jarvis Landry's one-year, $6 million max value contract includes a base salary of $1.12 million and a signing bonus of $1.88 million. The veteran has incentives that include $250,000 for 55 catches or $500,000 for 65 catches or $1 million for 75 catches. In addition, he gets $500,000 for each of the following: five receiving touchdowns, playing at least 48.5 percent of snaps, 60 catches and a playoff appearance, and 607 yards and a playoff appearance.

Updating a previous report, wide receiver Jarvis Landry inked a one-year contract worth as much as $6 million with New Orleans on Friday. After it was reported for weeks the veteran could be staying in the AFC North to return to the Browns or join the Ravens, he will instead head back to his home state to suit up for the Saints. The 29-year-old is a multi-time Pro Bowl wideout and has been potent option for quarterbacks over the years. However, he's coming off arguably the worst season of his career, although playing alongside Michael Thomas and rookie Chris Olave during the 2022-23 campaign may help him get back on track. Still, managers shouldn't make any drastic moves during fantasy drafts to acquire his services.

From RotoBaller

May 13 4:33pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry (Browns) reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints on Friday, May 13. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Fantasy Spin: At the very least, New Orleans is fortifying what was a very weak position group last year with Michael Thomas sidelined. The Saints are expected to have Thomas healthy this year and traded up to get Chris Olave last month, so Landry will likely be a full-time slot for New Orleans and serve as insurance against another Thomas injury. As long as Thomas and Olave stay healthy, Landry is probably no better than a WR5 for fantasy purposes in 2022.

From TheHuddle

May 13 4:30pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry is signing an undisclosed deal with the New Orleans Saints on Friday, according to a source. The five-time Pro Bowler has 43 career touchdowns, is from Louisiana and played at nearby LSU. The 29-year-old pass-catcher had the worst season of his career in 2021, but he only played in 12 games due to knee injuries and also had to deal with poor quarterback play from Baker Mayfield. He finished with 52 receptions on 87 targets for 570 yards and two touchdowns. The five-time Pro Bowler will be competing for targets with rookie first-rounder Chris Olave in his new home, and he'll be behind Michael Thomas as well in the slot. But Landry should at least be quarterback Jameis Winston's No. 3 target behind Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway.

The Green Bay Packers will have interest in some of the top remaining veteran wide receivers in free agency, including Julio Jones, Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., NFL Network's Ian Rapoport speculated on Tuesday, May 10.

From TheHuddle

May 10 4:03pm ET

Free-agent WRs Jarvis Landry (Browns), Julio Jones (Titans) and Odell Beckham Jr. (Rams) are very likely to be of much interest to the Green Bay Packers this summer, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

From TheHuddle

May 8 10:10pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry isn't expected to return to Cleveland. After both sides expressed mutual interest, it appears as if Landry will no longer ink a deal with the club. The veteran is coming off arguably his worst year in the league, finishing the 2021-22 campaign with 570 yards and two touchdowns off 52 receptions. The Ravens have been rumored to be in the running to acquire Landry's services, so if he heads to Baltimore, he'll have the potential to start opposite Rashod Bateman. However, considering the birds love to run the ball often, Landry may not be as effective as he was in previous years.

From RotoBaller

May 6 9:00pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry remains unsigned. After it was believed the Browns were looking to bring him back, another AFC North team, the Ravens, have reportedly shown interest in acquiring the veteran's services ahead of the 2022-23 season. Baltimore desperately needs help from a pass-catching standpoint, even more so after the birds sent Marquise Brown to the Cardinals on Draft night. However, Landry, who is coming off the worst season of his career by finishing with only 570 yards and two touchdowns off 52 catches, may not be the answer. Fortunately, he likely won't have much competition for playing time outside Rashaad Bateman and Mark Andrews if he signs with the organization. Lamar Jackson is also a more proven signal-caller than Baker Mayfield. Yet, with the Ravens known to utilize the run more often than not, there may not be enough balls to go around for Landry to resurrect his career in Baltimore, which obviously wouldn't be ideal for fantasy managers.

From RotoBaller

May 6 3:53pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry (Browns) has not heard from the Cleveland Browns since the NFL Draft ended last weekend, but the Baltimore Ravens have reportedly expressed interest in him recently, according to Brad Stainbrook of the Orange & Brown Report.

Fantasy Spin: It would be an interesting fit to say the least, as Landry's hard-nosed approach to the game would likely fit in well with Baltimore's offense. The Ravens would not be great for his potential fantasy impact, however, as he would likely fall in line behind Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman in a run-heavy offense.

From TheHuddle

May 6 1:53pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry and the Cleveland Browns are less likely to have a reunion following the draft, according to a source.

From TheHuddle

May 5 11:00pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry could be on his way back to Cleveland. General manager Andrew Berry didn't dismiss the possibility of it happening, with both sides reportedly sharing mutual interest regarding a reunion. However, with Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones on the roster, as well as capable pass-catching backs in Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb, Landry may not see enough targets to be a consistent option for fantasy managers this season if he signs with the Browns. To make matters worse for Landry's outlook, newly acquired quarterback Deshaun Watson may not suit up during the 2022-23 campaign, and Baker Mayfield may be traded at some point in the near future.

From RotoBaller

May 4 12:43pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry (Browns) remains an option for the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Spin: Landry could still be a useful PPR option as a WR4 or WR5. Keep tabs on where he lands.

From TheHuddle

Apr 19 8:20pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry is set to visit with the New Orleans Saints this week. The five-time Pro Bowl wideout has already visited with the Atlanta Falcons this offseason. Also, the Browns, Chiefs, and Packers are reportedly landing spots for the veteran receiver. On paper, the Saints would be a rough spot for Landry. Stud wideout Michael Thomas already has the slot locked down. The quarterback situation in New Orleans isn't exactly favorable right now. At best, Landry might put together shaky WR3 value with the Saints. New Orleans is a run-heavy team and it's unlikely that Landry flourishes in that offense.

From RotoBaller

Apr 19 7:03pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry (Browns) is expected to meet with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, April 20, or at some point this week, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Landry has not received a lot of interest this offseason but is starting to be linked to some teams. The Saints will have Michael Thomas next season, but Landry could be a solid No. 2 or No. 3 receiver if he joins the Saints. He should sign with a team in the near future and can be at least a No. 4 fantasy receiver.

From TheHuddle

Apr 17 1:20pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry isn't expected to re-sign with the Cleveland Browns, in the opinion of Tony Grossi. The Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons could be the top landing spots for Landry this offseason, but the veteran pass-catcher could wait until after the NFL draft this month to sign with a new team. The 29-year-old is reportedly seeking $20 million per season on a new deal after he was released by the Browns after an injury plagued 2021 campaign. The five-time Pro Bowler had 52 catches for 570 yards and a career-low two touchdowns in 12 games last season, but he could bounce back in a better situation with better quarterback play in 2022.

From RotoBaller

Mar 27 8:03pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry is believed to be looking for $20 million per season in his next contract, according to sources.

Fantasy Spin: Landry is coming off a disappointing 2021 season and is still looking to sign with a team after he was released by the Cleveland Browns. He should find a new team at some point this offseason and could be a possible No. 3 fantasy receiver depending on his situation.

From TheHuddle

Mar 26 9:40pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry may be searching for a massive payday. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the veteran has changed agents in hopes of securing a deal that would pay him around $20 million per year. The five-time Pro Bowl wideout was recently released by the Cleveland Browns and is coming off the worst season of his career, finishing the 2021-22 campaign by racking up only 52 catches for 570 yards and two touchdowns. Nonetheless, with many teams not able or willing to pay Landry's potential hefty price tag, it may be a while before he finds himself a new home. It's also possible he doesn't ink a new deal until after the NFL Draft in April, a time when most clubs look to fill any residual voids on the depth chart.

From RotoBaller

Mar 20 11:10am ET

After clearing more salary cap space on Saturday, the Cleveland Browns are trying to re-sign both wide receiver Jarvis Landry and pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney, according to league sources. Now that the Browns have quarterback Deshaun Watson, it's much more likely that they get both Landry and Clowney back. The Browns have been talking to the agents of both players and will try to get deals done sooner than later. If Landry returns, he'd be the No. 2 receiver behind Amari Cooper and would be an excellent bounce-back candidate in PPR leagues with Watson now in town. The 29-year-old was slowed by injuries and poor quarterback play in 2021 when he finished with career-lows in receptions (52), receiving yards (570) and touchdowns (two) in 12 games.

From RotoBaller

Mar 19 7:13pm ET

Free-agent WR Jarvis Landry (Browns) is a candidate to re-sign with the Cleveland Browns after the team cleared more than $15 million in cap space Saturday, March 19.
