2022 RTSports Outlook

Injuries slowed Crowder for the second straight season. He has played 12 games each of the past two years. He had 51 receptions, giving him 50-plus catches three straight years. Crowder had just four games with double-digit fantasy points, though. He was pretty ho hum most weeks. He got his catches but more than 50 yards just three times. Crowder can do well out of the slot and should compete for that job this year with the Bills. Crowder is a small receiver but has good moves in space and knows how to get open. He gets by with his speed and quickness. Crowder lacks some bulk and height, which limits him some from playing on the outside and is a concern for him staying healthy. Fantasy Outlook:   Crowder is a productive receiver in PPR formats, getting plenty of weekly chances, but injuries are a concern after the last two seasons. He is a reserve receiver for fantasy teams. He won't score much or have a really big game because of a lack of yards. He can get around 40 receptions for 500 yards and a few scores.

Buffalo Bills veteran wide receiver Jamison Crowder made a return to team drills on Tuesday at training camp after a five-practice absence due to general soreness. However, he got most his work with the Case Keenum-led offense rather than working with quarterback Josh Allen. Isaiah McKenzie has continued to build chemistry with Allen and appears to have the current lead over Crowder for the starting slot job. But the competition isn't over by any means, and Crowder easily won snaps against the cornerbacks he faced Tuesday. He remains a great target on underneath routes, which should give the Bills dependable depth, at the very least. But McKenzie gives the Bills the potential for more explosive plays and more yards after the catch, making him the better late-round dart throw in deeper fantasy leagues.

Buffalo Bills WR Jamison Crowder (undisclosed) was scheduled to be a limited participant during practice Monday, Aug. 1.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jamison Crowder (back) is currently sidelined due to soreness in his back, according to head coach Sean McDermott. It's not exactly known the full extent of the injury, but McDermott has used soreness as a reason for multiple players who are sitting out. That being said, fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried about Crowder missing some time. Although, it does hurt in his position battle with Isaiah McKenzie. The two of them are expected to compete for WR3 duties in Buffalo. At this point, there doesn't appear to be a favorite, but McKenzie will continue to gain momentum the longer Crowder is sidelined.

Buffalo Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie has 'taken a definitive step up' in his performance, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic, and Buscaglia believes McKenzie could beat out WR Jamison Crowder for the starting slot receiver role.

Jul 26 1:30pm ET

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Jake Kumerow will miss practice on Tuesday with "soreness" and "tightness" and will be listed as day-to-day at training camp. It's not what you want to see from a veteran wideout early in training camp, but it's also probably nothing to worry about yet. The veteran slot man is coming off an underwhelming season in 2021 with the New York Jets, catching 51 passes for 447 yards and only two touchdowns in 12 games. However, if healthy, Crowder is the favorite to win slot duties in Buffalo over Isaiah McKenzie. The 29-year-old might not have as much after-the-catch ability as McKenzie, but he could be a reliable third-down weapon for quarterback Josh Allen, much like Cole Beasley was.

Jul 15 10:43pm ET

Buffalo Bills WR Jamison Crowder is the frontrunner for the slot receiver job, in the opinion of Vic Carucci of WGRZ.com.

Fantasy Spin: Crowder will have to beat out Isaiah McKenzie for the job, but while he has dealt with some injuries, Crowder has produced quality numbers for the Jets and Commanders as the slot option. In Buffalo's potent offense, Crowder could be an interesting WR4.

Jun 28 5:40pm ET

Buffalo Bills speedy wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie appears to have an early lead in the battle to take over Cole Beasley's slot receiver role in 2022, but veteran Jamison Crowder looked solid during offseason workouts in his first year with the team. Crowder dealt with injuries in his final year with the New York Jets, but he might have found a good fit with the Bills. The competition between McKenzie and Crowder for playing time in the slot will be one to watch in training camp. The 29-year-old played in only 12 games in 2021 and finished with 51 catches for 447 yards and two touchdowns, but he managed 833 yards and six touchdowns as recently as 2019 with the Jets, and Crowder could be a sleeper in the slot if he wins the competition and gains quarterback Josh Allen's trust.

Buffalo Bills WR Jamison Crowder looked 'solid' during offseason work and 'might have found a good fit' in Buffalo, according to ESPN.com's Alaina Getzenberg.

Fantasy Spin: Getzenberg notes that Isaiah McKenzie appears to have the early lead on Crowder, but it would be a mistake for fantasy managers to dismiss the former New York Jet. Durability has been a problem for the 29-year-old in three of the last four seasons, but he has long possessed the right combination of quickness and craftiness to get open quick and be productive despite playing with below-average quarterbacking for most of his career. The Crowder-McKenzie winner will be worth taking as a high-floor WR4 in most leagues, just as Cole Beasley was.

Mar 21 10:10pm ET

Free-agent wide receiver Jamison Crowder signed a one-year deal worth up to $4 million with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to a source. Crowder essentially will replace veteran slot man Cole Beasley, who was released last week. The 28-year-old veteran spent the last three seasons with the New York Jets and finished with 51 receptions for 447 yards and only two touchdowns on 71 targets over 12 games (four starts) in 2021. Crowder had 12 total touchdowns in his first two years with Gang Green, and he'll be moving to a better offense in Buffalo, so he could be a nice value pick in PPR drafts this year, depending on who else the Bills at the position (Emmanuel Sanders is a free agent as well).

Mar 21 7:13pm ET

Free-agent WR Jamison Crowder (Jets) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills Monday, March 21, worth as much as $4 million, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Crowder will replace Cole Beasley as the slot receiver for the Bills. He is a reliable receiver when healthy and could be a late round pick in point-per-reception leagues.

From TheHuddle

Mar 7 9:43pm ET

New York Jets impending free-agent WR Jamison Crowder likely will be allowed to test the free-agent market this offseason, according to a source.

Fantasy Spin: Crowder has dealt with injuries recently with 12 games played in each of the last two seasons. He is a good slot receiver when healthy and should receive interest in free agency. He could be a late round pick in deeper point-per-reception leagues but can be avoided most weeks.
