2022 RTSports Outlook

Benjamin found the field some his second season in the NFL, rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown in nine games. He will try to move up the depth chart this year and get a little more playing time with the Cardinals. Benjamin has the makeup of a three-down back. He is an elusive back with good wiggle and speed. He will try to make the big play too much, though, causing some indecisiveness.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Benjamin might get a little more work this year but probably not enough to be fantasy relevant. He could get around 300 or 400 total yards with a few scores.

Arizona Cardinals running back Eno Benjamin carried the ball five times for 14 yards in Friday night's preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The 23-year-old didn't have the best showing in this one, but his roster spot looks to be secure as reports out of training camp have been nothing but positive. Benjamin has a real shot to work as the team's RB2 behind James Conner, but he will also need to fight off Darrel Williams for touches. With Chase Edmonds departing in the offseason, there is a significant role in the Arizona offense up for grabs. That in itself is a good reason to consider Benjamin with a late-round flier if he is able to lock up the No. 2 spot on the depth chart.

Arizona Cardinals running back Eno Benjamin has been impressive during training camp, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury. The 23-year-old is reportedly one of the hardest workers on the team. Despite that, Benjamin will have competition for the RB2 job in Arizona. The team has added Darrel Williams and drafted Keontay Ingram as well. James Conner will be the starter, but there will be plenty of backup reps available with the departure of Chase Edmonds. It sounds like Benjamin has a legitimate shot at the backup role heading into the season. Fantasy managers should keep their eye on Benjamin as the season gets closer.

Arizona Cardinals running back Eno Benjamin is viewed as a "lock" to win the backup running back job out of training camp, according to Blake Murphy of Revenge of the Birds. Benjamin has been competing with veteran Darrel Williams for the No. 2 role behind incumbent starter James Conner. The backup role became vacant when Chase Edmonds departed for Miami this past offseason. Benjamin hasn't seen much usage throughout two pro seasons, totaling just 118 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards, and one touchdown. However, he has looked great throughout camp, and it appears that his time has come to climb to No. 2 on the depth chart.

Arizona Cardinals running back Eno Benjamin has been taking advantage of his repetitions this offseason and has married his quickness, pass protection and receiving abilities into a player who could end up backing up James Conner in 2022. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury has raved about Benjamin this offseason. With Chase Edmonds leaving in free agency, Benjamin will be the front-runner to be Conner's backup when training camp starts at the end of July. The 23-year-old former seventh-rounder in 2020 will have to beat out Darrel Williams for the backup job, but if he does, he could be a valuable handcuff to Conner in fantasy. Benjamin didn't play at all in his rookie season, and he carried the ball just 34 times for 118 yards and a touchdown while adding six catches for 42 yards in nine games in 2021.

Dynasty | Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said running back Eno Benjamin "has been terrific." Dynasty Analysis: Strong words from a coach who is normally somewhat quiet about his players. He also mentioned he "looks like he could be a starting running back." While it's great to hear the third-year back is developing, the team signed James Conner to a three-year contract early this year and there's little question he'll be featured as the bell-cow back, leaving Benjamin as a rotational back unless less Conner misses time due to injury. In any case, at only 23 year-of-age, Benjamin should see opportunities and Conner has been far from durable in the past. Benjamin is sparsely ranked as DLF's RB76 and possesses some long-term upside for patient dynasty coaches.

The Cardinals have signed running back Darrel Williams Dynasty Analysis: Williams, now 27, has shown capability as a backup-quality running back along with some ability to handle volume touches as well, including as a receiver. With no proven name behind starter James Conner, Williams seemingly now slides into the RB2 role, pushing down rising younger players Eno Benjamin and 2022 rookie Keaonte Ingram. In 2021, Williams managed 558 yards and six touchdowns as a runner while adding 47 receptions for 452 yards and two additional touchdowns as a receiver. Given Conner's struggles with remaining healthy, it's possible Williams, DLF's RB81 has some sleeper potential should Conner find his was to the trainer's table once again in 2022.
