Jones had another uneven season for the Giants. He started well, having 26-plus fantasy points three of his first four games, but had a slow finish and saw his season cut short once again because of a neck injury. Jones had 12 total touchdowns to seven interceptions. He completed 64.3 percent of his passes, which was a career high. He did have multiple touchdowns just two of his last seven games and did not have more than 250-passing yards any of those games. Jones should be in a better situation for success this year, though, with offensive guru Brian Daboll taking over as head coach for the Giants. This should be a huge plus for Jones to get on track. Jones has all the tools to be a successful NFL quarterback. Jones is a tall quarterback with a strong arm and quick release. He can be a very accurate passer, especially on shorter throws. Jones tries to force some throws, but isn't afraid to take chances down the field. He also uses his legs well, rushing for 1,000 yards in three seasons.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: This is likely a make or break season for Jones. If he doesn't succeed this year, he might be heading to a backup job. He is certainly setup for good things if he can play up to his potential. He has a high ceiling because of his rushing ability and the likelihood the Giants become a pass-first offense. Take him as a No. 2 and hope for a breakout season. He can get around 3,700-passing yards, 30 total scores, 10 or so interceptions, and around 500-rushing yards.
It's no secret the Giants' offense has been nothing short of dysfunctional in recent years as the team's quarterbackDaniel Joneshad to deal with the likes of former head coaches Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge, and former GM Dave Gettleman's constant roster snafus. The question is whether the No.6 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft can finally live up to his potential. The Giants declined Jones' fifth-year option this offseason making him a free agent in 2023. With new Head Coach, Brian Daboll in the fold and no other viable competition for Jones on the depth chart the Giants seem committed to seeing if they can resurrect him in 2022. With a healthySaquon Barkley,Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, and upgrades on the offensive line, including first-round RT Evan Neal and signing free agent C Jon Feliciano. New York's offense can be much better in 2022 since it has nowhere to go but up. The 25-year-old does offer a decent rushing floor for fantasy purposes. Despite the Giants' dysfunction, Jones was the QB17 in 2021 on a PPG basis. Jones was also fifth in play-action completion percentage in 2021, so it will be interesting to see what Daboll can dial up to make the Giants' offense viable again. Jones is in a prove-it year and has more value in Superflex leagues but is an intriguing streaming option to keep an eye on in one QB league formats. There is a stretch that the Giants play the Jaguars, Seahawks, Texans, and Lions in 4 out of 5 weeks midseason.

New York Giants quarterbackDaniel Jones and the starting offense played the entire first quarter in Thursday's preseason 23-21 win over the New England Patriots. Jones finished with 69 passing yards and six rushing yards while completing six of his 10 aerial attempts. The Giants moved the ball pretty well, and they likely would've scored a touchdown on the first drive if Kenny Golladaydidn't drop a third-down pass. With the arrival of former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, there are higher expectations for Jones and New York's offense in 2022. Despite Jones not being the most prolific passer, he does give late-round upside at the quarterback position due to his ability to create with his legs. It was a solid start to the preseason for Jones, as it remains to be seen how much action he'll see in Week 2 of the preseason against the Cincinnati Bengals.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said, "I anticipate all of our guys playing Thursday" in the team's preseason opener against the New England Patriots next week. Hopefully for the Giants sake, none of their starters suffer significant injuries after their wide receiver corps was decimated by injuries in 2021. Quarterback Daniel Jones also played in only 11 games in his third NFL season due to a pretty serious neck injury. Running back Saquon Barkley hasn't played a full season since his rookie year in 2018, but he has so far looked outstanding in training camp this summer. If New York's offense can stay relatively healthy in 2022, most of their offensive weapons could have resurgent seasons for fantasy managers.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas (ankle), who missed four games last year with an ankle injury that required offseason surgery, has been rehabbing and is expected to be ready for training camp. "Rehab is coming along pretty well. I'm doing everything the trainers ask me to do," Thomas said. "Definitely moving a lot better and I'm prepared to be ready for training camp." Thomas is the only returning offensive lineman from last year and is currently penciled in to start at left tackle next to guard Shane Lemieux, Jon Feliciano, Mark Glowinski and Evan Neal. A healthy Thomas on quarterback Daniel Jones' blind side will go a long way if the Giants want to turn around their shoddy offensive-line play.

Dynasty | Giants receiver Kenny Golladay has potential in Brian Daboll's new offense Dynasty Analysis: Daboll was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo and the thought is that Golladay will immediately benefit in the new offense. There's never been a question about talent with but constant injury and quarterback inconsistency have robbed the receiver of what was supposed to be a promising second half of his career. After two back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns in 2018 and 2019, a hip injury limited the dynamic playmaker to five games and 338 yards. Departing as a free agent to the Giants in 2021 saw new injuries and offensive inconsistency with quarterback Daniel Jones under center, eventually leading to a dismal 37/521/0 stat line. With more offensive weapons and a new offensive system, the hope is that Golladay, who turns 29 in November, can get back on track and return to WR1 form. He's listed as DLF's WR65 and enters 2022 as a potential sleeper.
Dynasty | Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is in a showcase year Dynasty Analysis: Jones is unlikely to return in 2023 and even a banner year wouldn't seem to change his prospects given the depth of next year's rookie class at the position. Reviews and opinions of Jones are wide-ranging but with multiple teams in need at the position, he could land a lucrative contract if he's finally able to remain on the field and put it all together. To be sure, Jones' struggles aren't upon his shoulders alone. Star running back Saquon Barkley has missed significant time due to injury and the receiving corps. has been horribly inconsistent. The Giants remain a huge question mark offensively but he does possess the arm talent and mobility to have an upside season should the stars align. At only 25 years of age and as DLF's QB25, Daniel Jones makes for an intriguing buy-low QB3 value.
Dynasty | Giants receiver Kenny Golladay was listed as the team's most over-valued player Dynasty Analysis: The team gave Golladay a four-year $72M contract in 2021 and he responded with a 37/521/0 stat line. It was a brutal campaign for the 28-year-old, who was clearly a shadow of his former-self. While with the Lions, Golladay combined for 135 receptions, 2,253 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2018 and 2019 before injury limited his 2020 campaign to only five games. Bolting for the Giants and a big payday, the dynamic target was supposed to play a large role in the restoration of the struggling team's passing attack with Daniel Jones under center. That hasn't panned out and, while still clearly a starter, Golladay has one more year to find the expected production. If fully healthy and with Daniel Jones now in his own make-or-break season, Golladay, DLF's WR64, has all the potential to be a fine later-round sleeper at receiver but headwinds are blowing.
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones isn't concerned about his future, specifically after the franchise declined to pick up his fifth-year option. "I don't know," Said Jones while speaking to the New York Post regarding where he'll be in 2023, "I haven't put a whole lot of time into it. I'm focused on what I'm doing now." The signal-caller has failed to live up to expectations since entering the league in 2019, although, to be fair, constant coaching changes could be partly to blame for his lack of development. Still, the 25-year-old may have one more chance to get his act together, and he will also need to prove his value to fantasy managers if he hopes to make any roster heading toward Week 1.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones hasn't had the best NFL career thus far. Since entering the league in 2019, Jones has thrown for 8,398 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 29 picks while completing just 62.8% of his throws. However, legendary signal-caller Eli Manning recently spoke up in defense of the 25-year-old, indicating that constant coaching changes have severely hindered his development. Still, with New York declining Jones' fifth-year option, he will likely have one more chance to prove his worth under new head coach Brian Daboll. He will also have to convince fantasy managers in all formats he's worthy of a roster spot, which won't happen until he turns things around.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) has been fully cleared for football activities, according to head coach Brian Daboll. Jones played in a career-low 11 games for the G-Men last year because of his neck injury, but the Giants said all along that they weren't concerned with his long-term prognosis. The Giants didn't pick up Jones' fifth-year option this offseason, so he has plenty to prove heading into his fourth NFL season. The 25-year-old former sixth overall pick has shown flashes in his three seasons, but turnover issues and inconsistency have mostly kept him from reaching his ceiling. If Jones is fully healthy in 2022, he could easily bounce back and have his best season with plenty of weapons around him.

Dynasty | Giants running back Saquon Barkley expects to be more involved as a receiver in 2022. Dynasty Analysis: We've heard the other reports from beat writers and coaches that Barkley has been looking good and will be more active out of the backfield as a receiver, but now the word comes directly from the player as hiumself. Playing in his contract year, Barkley is almost certainly going to be with a new team in 2023 and he's fully healthy and energized for 2022. Whether the G-men's offense, as limiting as was his injury woes, can be more effective is anyone's guess and without greater efficiency from quarterback Daniel Jones, also in a contract year, opposing defenses may simply stack the box to stop the the team's top weapon. Should the Giants find offensive consistency and Barkley remains off the trainer's table, the setup would be present for significant value and production for DLF's RB14. Saquon Barkley will play all of 2022 at age 25, leaving plenty of years of production ahead, though he'll have to prove he can remain injury free.
Giants rookie receiver Wan'Dale Robinson will be part of the receiver rotation immediately. Dynasty Analysis: It's hard to read much into this as the team's second-round selection is assured a roster spot and the Giants are expected to run four and five-receiver sets to spread the field, meaning all active receivers would be in the rotation. Robinson's second-round status profiles more as a "fit" selection given what the Giants would like to do on offense rather than a high-volume starter, at least early in his career. At 5'11/185 lbs., there's upside with Robinson should he find a role and gain the trust of current starting quarterback Daniel Jones. He's listed as DLF's WR66.
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll wants quarterback Daniel Jones to "turn it loose" this season. "Yeah, look, we want to make sure we protect the ball," Daboll said. "But again, you can't go out there and play afraid. Be smart, not reckless, if you will. If he's got a shot on the right read, let it go." Jones has worked in the past to limit turnovers -- he threw 17 interceptions the last two years -- but it has led to a conservative approach. The 24-year-old has 49 total turnovers since he was a first-rounder in 2019, which is tied for third-most in the league. Jones has the weapons around him to be successful in 2022, especially if running back Saquon Barkley stays healthy, but fantasy managers shouldn't invest in him as anything more than a potential upside QB2.

Former Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal signed his rookie deal on Saturday, agreeing to a fully guaranteed four-year, $24.55 million contract, with a team option for a fifth season. Neal, who stands 6'7" and weighs in at around 350 pounds, was selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The 21-year-old is an imposing figure who possesses the skill needed to bolster a weak offensive line, which may make life easier for Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, two players who battled injuries over the years.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is still considered the team's starter. Despite the team recently declining Jones' fifth-year option, general manager Joe Schoen indicated that the signal-caller is still the No. 1 option on the depth chart. The 24-year-old showed promise during his rookie year by finishing with 3,027 yards, 24 touchdowns, more than his previous two seasons combined, and 12 interceptions. However, he has had health issues, including missing six games in 2021-22 because of a neck injury. Nonetheless, the former Blue Devil will likely have one more chance to get his act together, or else he may find himself on a new team at some point moving ahead.

The New York Giants added another offensive weapon by taking tight end Daniel Bellinger out of San Diego State University at pick No. 112 in the 2022 NFL Draft. Already surprising many with the selection of wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson in the second round, the 21-year-old Bellinger is also an interesting choice. It appears that new head coach Brian Daboll is prioritizing depth at skill positions. However, with the team declining to pick up quarterback Daniel Jones' fifth-year option, it may be more of a long-term play. At 6'5'' and 253 pounds, Bellinger has the size to demand attention over the middle. Still, his athletic profile may make it challenging to carve out a meaningful role alongside fellow tight ends Ricky Seals-Jones and Jordan Akins.

The New York Giants selected Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal with the No. overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft on Thursday night. Neal is a massive human being at 6-foot-7 and 337 pounds, so defenders usually have a tough time getting past him.He started at left tackle last year for the first time in his career and allowed just one sack. Quarterback Daniel Jones has one more year to prove that he's the Giants QB of the future, but things will be easier with Neal helping to protect him this year. Neal has played against top-level competition in his three years in college, and he's well-schooled in the technical aspects of both right and left tackle. His weight could be a future concern, but Neal is tough to beat if he can get his hands on defenders.
From RotoBaller
The New York Giants exercised the fifth-year option on defensive end Dexter Lawrence on Thursday, according to a source. In other Giants news, the team declined to pick up quarterback Daniel Jones' fifth-year option, as expected. Lawrence, who was the 17th overall pick in 2019, has played well as a pass-rusher and run defender in three seasons with the G-Men. The 24-year-old from Clemson had a career-high 54 tackles (27 solo), five tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games (10 starts) in 2021. With just nine sacks in his first three NFL seasons, Lawrence is well off the fantasy radar in IDP leagues.
From RotoBaller
As expected, the New York Giants are not picking up quarterback Daniel Jones' fifth-year option, according to a source with knowledge of the team's plans. However, if Jones plays well in 2022, he'll have a chance to cash in with the franchise tag for the 2023 season. It was considered a reach when the Giants took Jones sixth overall in the 2019 draft out of Duke. He flashed positive signs in his rookie year with 3,027 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 13 games, but he's had fumbling issues and took a step back in his sophomore season. Jones played in just 11 games due to a neck injury in 2021, but he's done well in his rehab and is expected to be fully ready for the start of the 2022 regular season. The 24-year-old will have to learn a whole new offense and prove to the Giants and fantasy managers that he's a legitimate starter.
From RotoBaller
The New York Giants are faced with a decision on whether to pick up quarterback Daniel Jones' fifth-year option by next Tuesday. The option would be worth $22.38 million. Jones will enter the season at age 25 and has fallen short of expectations since being taken with the No. 6 overall pick in 2019. With a new head coach in Brian Daboll and picks No. 5 and No. 7 in this year's draft, the team could opt to give Jones one more shot at taking a step forward, but it would come at a hefty cost. With significant draft capital as well as trade rumors swirling around wide receiver Kadarius Toney, it would not be surprising to see the Giants go a different direction at quarterback, particularly as they juggle salary cap issues. Jones has statistically declined each year in the league, finishing 2021 with 2,428 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions with a passer rating of only 84.8 through 11 starts. He also has an astonishing 36 career fumbles in 38 total games.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones continues to have job security as he enters his fourth season in the NFL. Owner John Mara told Jordan Raanan of ESPN that Jones is the team's No. 1 quarterback and offseason addition Tyrod Taylor is his backup. Mara recently gave Jones another vote of confidence, saying, "When we've been relatively healthy, he's shown enough talent to make us believe we can win with him." He also added that Jones' development should take a leap forward in 2022 with Brian Daboll as his head coach and a healthy roster surrounding him. From a fantasy perspective, while Jones' mobility is intriguing, his upside is capped around the mid-to-low QB2 range for the time being.
