2022 RTSports Outlook

Fant had another productive season as the starter for the Broncos, finishing 12th overall in fantasy tight end scoring. He topped 60 receptions for the second straight season. He was a consistent weekly target, having at least three receptions 13 of 16 games. HIs numbers weren't huge but consistent. Fant heads to the Seahawks this year to take over as their starting tight end. The big issue for Fant will be the quarterback play in Seattle, which is up in the air right now. Fant has a ton of ability, though, and should be a top tight end in this offense for years to come. He can stretch the seam well because of his size and speed. He plays more like a receiver than a tight end. Fant also isn't a bad blocker and continues to improve in that area.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Fant isn't flashy but consistent. He should be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end or spot starter. He can get around 70 receptions for 750 yards and five touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Seattle Seahawks tight end Will Dissly played in 10 games in the first two seasons of his career with Seattle due to major injuries, and he's never exceeded 24 receptions or 262 receiving yards in his four years in the league. The 26-year-old re-signed for three years and $24 million after catching 21 of 26 targets for 231 yards and one touchdown in 15 games in 2021. Seattle landed pass-catching tight end Noah Fant in the trade that sent Russell Wilson to the Broncos, so Dissly is expected to do most of the blocking as the Seahawks transition to a new offensive approach with Wilson gone. Dissly should be left to the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues, and even if Fant were to miss time with an injury in 2022, Dissly would still be somewhat of a long shot to return any fantasy value.

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant was acquired this offseason as part of a blockbuster trade featuring superstar quarterback Russell Wilson. The former 2019 first-round pick was a highly touted prospect entering the league, given his athleticism and opportunity to be a downfield threat. While he showed flashes in Denver, his career-highs of 68 receptions, 670 yards and only four touchdowns left a lot to be desired. Recently described as having "the most spectacular camp of anybody" by head coach Pete Carroll, it's clear that Fant is making a strong impression with his new team. Despite the void left at quarterback, there will still be plenty of opportunity for Fant to emerge behind receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett as a focal point for this offense, which could equate to a big year as a top-15 tight end in fantasy.

Jun 4 1:30pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant thinks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron's system will be good for him. "Honestly, I like now, granted, this is from just like a month coming in but I like the way they use the tight ends," Fant said. "I like the way we get passing concepts down the field. The run game, obviously it's going to be all built off the run game, which is a huge part of the game. Obviously, the play action is going to be huge. So it's a very balanced offense, which I like. And it's very favorable to the tight end. So it's nice." Fant has plenty of ability, but he'll be behind receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in the pecking order and will likely share time with Will Dissly. Fant will be working with either quarterback Geno Smith or Drew Lock, who he worked with in Denver, but he'll remain more of a low-end TE1 target in fantasy.

The Seattle Seahawks have officially picked up Noah Fant's fifth-year option after acquiring him from Denver in the Russell Wilson trade during the offseason. He is the first player in the 2019 draft class to have his fifth-year option picked up and guarantees the tight end $6.85 million in 2022. Fant caught 68-of-90 targets for 670 yards and four touchdowns over 16 games for the Broncos in 2021. Dynasty managers should take note that Fant's performance in 2022 will likely dictate whether he remains a building block in Seattle's future or plays for his third team in as many seasons. He is still only 24 years old but is only likely to see his ceiling unlocked if there is a major change in his surroundings.

Apr 6 10:20pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant isn't sure if the team will pick up his fifth-year option. Seattle has until May 2nd to do so, although he isn't concerned. In March, Fant, along with teammate Drew Lock, was acquired by the Seahawks in a blockbuster deal that sent Russell Wilson to the Broncos. The 24-year-old had 170 receptions for 1,905 yards and 10 touchdowns during his three years in Denver. Fant will have the luxury of catching passes from Lock once again. He also has the potential to surpass his ADP, so he should be targeted by managers who usually wait before drafting a tight end.

Apr 5 7:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant told members of the media that the team hasn't spoken to him about his fifth-year option. This is a bit of a surprise considering he was a key part of the return for Russell Wilson, but it's not an indicator that they won't exercise the option. After all, the team still has roughly four weeks to file its official decision with the league. Exercising the option would keep Fant under contract for 2022 at the reasonable rate of $6.9 million. Through 16 games this past season, he caught 68 passes for 670 yards and four touchdowns.

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant hopes that the team deploys him in a way that feels more natural and appropriate this coming season, according to Will Petersen of 104.3 The Fan. The former first-round pick said he was drafted to "get down the field, make those explosive plays, and kind of be that pass catching tight end." However, during his time with the Broncos, he felt cornered into a role that entailed "catching flat balls or whatever it may be, and then trying to be a shifty guy and elusive guy and try to break as many tackles possible to get my yards." Heading into 2022, following his trade from Denver to Seattle, it's reasonable to view Fant as a mid-to-low TE1.

From RotoBaller

Mar 30 10:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant viewed himself as a deep threat and was frustrated with how he was used with the Denver Broncos. During an interview with 1043 The Fan, Fant said he's a deep threat, but the Broncos used him in the flat and had him try to break tackles. The 24-year-old caught 170 passes and 10 touchdowns in 47 career games with Denver while racking up at least 500 yards each season. Fant, along with quarterback Drew Lock and defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks were traded to Seattle Seahawks in exchange for quarterback Russell Wilson earlier in the offseason. Fant has upside, but with the uncertainty at quarterback for the Seahawks, the former Denver Bronco is a mid-range TE2 in upcoming fantasy drafts.
