2020 RTSports Outlook

Vannett played with the Seahawks and Steelers last season, getting traded to Pittsburgh after three games with the Seattle. Vannett had 17 receptions for 166 yards between the two teams. Vannett has 61 receptions in four NFL seasons. He signed with the Broncos this offseason and will play a reserve role with his new team. He should get plenty of playing time for the Broncos because of his blocking ability. He can be an asset for the running game. He can make plays in the passing game, though, improving in that area in recent seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Vannett probably won't get a lot of targets in the passing game, helping more as a blocker than receiver. He isn't worth a draft pick for fantasy teams unless he is forced into a bigger role in the passing game. Expect around 20 receptions for 200 yards with a score or two.

RotoBaller's Outlook

2018 was a career year for Seattle Seahawks tight end Nick Vannett. He hauled in 29 receptions for 269 yards and three touchdowns, all career highs and numbers that led all Seahawks tight ends. However, much of that was due to injuries, as veteran Ed Dickson missed the first eight games with a back injury and rookie Will Dissly suffered a season-ending knee injury minutes into Seattles fourth game of the season. Dissly and Dickson are both healthy now, and Seattle also added Jacob Hollister into the mix - and thats after using lineman George Fant as a tight end multiple times last season. Its a crowded tight end picture in Seattle at the moment, and this is not a team that is known to utilize their tight ends exceptionally well, as many former Jimmy Graham owners can attest to. Dissly likely has the upper hand on the starting tight end role in Seattle, as long as he is healthy. Because of that, he is the late round flyer you want to target in Seattle - which means Vannett should remain on your waiver wire. Injuries are certainly a possibility to push him into a bigger role once again in 2019, but until that happens I wouldnt use a roster spot on him.

Denver Broncos TE Nick Vannett on Friday, April 3, discussed his run blocking on a media conference call. 'I have always thought one of the traits need to have, you have to have some nasty,' Vannett said. 'It's not a cute job. It's not an attractive job. You are not going to get any stats from it. You know what, it's all mentality.'

Fantasy Spin: Vannett only caught passes in 16 games with the Seahawks and Steelers last season, and he'll play the blocking tight end role in Denver with 2019 first-round pick Noah Fant and veteran Jeff Heuerman serving as the primary pass-catching tight ends and only viable fantasy options.

The Denver Broncos signed tight end Nick Vannett to an undisclosed two-year deal on Saturday, according to a source. Vannett, more known for his blocking, had 17 combined catches between the Seahawks and Steelers in 2019. He should serve as the blocking complement to Noah Fant in his new home. The 27-year-old was a third-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016 and hasn't had more than 29 catches or 269 receiving yards in a single season. He won't be on the fantasy radar unless Fant misses time with an injury, and even then he'd be a low-end TE2 without much upside.
