Player Notes
Dec 29 11:20pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard led the team in targets; however, he was only able to haul in three of his 11 passes for 39 yards. It was a disappointing output against an Eagles depleted secondary, but Shepard has remained the Giants' top target during all of his healthy games this season. The Giants will have lots of options in the passing game next year, so Shepard may not be consistent; however, he appears to have the trust of Daniel Jones and is emerging as the team's WR1.

Dec 29 8:13pm ET

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones completed 28-of-47 passes for 301 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, while also rushing for 26 yards. RB Saquon Barkley rushed 17 times for 92 yards and a score, while adding three receptions for 25 yards on four targets. TE Kaden Smith showed out with eight grabs for 98 yards on 11 targets, and WR Golden Tate finished up with five catches for 68 yards and a score. WR Darius Slayton wrapped it up with four receptions for 50 yards, while WR Sterling Shepard ended the campaign with five catches for 39 yards on 10 targets.

Dec 27 1:10pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard gets a good matchup on Sunday against an Eagles Defense that ranks 28th in the league in points allowed to wide receivers over the last six weeks. Shepard has seen a minimum of six targets in each of his last five games, which is a safe floor in a game that could shootout with so much on the line for the Eagles, who are trying to clinch a playoff spot. Before keeping the Cowboys receivers out of the end zone last week, the Eagles had allowed two receiving touchdowns in the previous three games and scores in the previous five. The Giants have a crowded receiving room, which makes Shepard a bit of a risk, but his target floor keeps him as a WR3 option.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 9:40pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard found his way to the end zone again on Sunday, finishing with six catches for 76 yards and the aforementioned touchdown. He's missed a few games with concussions, but Shepard has been a productive number one wide receiver for the Giants, dispelling any notion that he can't play outside the slot. Expect another solid effort from him next week against the Eagles.

From RotoBaller

Dec 22 8:53pm ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard ended up with six receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown in Week 16 against the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard went for nine grabs and 111 yards last week with Eli Manning under center, and he didn't skip a bet with the quarterback change. He has shown that he can be a decent PPR fantasy option when healthy, and he'll be a decent late-round option in PPR leagues heading into 2020.

From TheHuddle

Dec 20 9:40am ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard will be a risky option for fantasy championships on Sunday. The Redskins Defense is only 13th in PPR points allowed to running backs, and Shepard has hovered about 25% of the target share with Daniel Jones under center since Shepard returned from his concussion. With Washington a run-heavy team, the game will likely move quickly and not feature as many opportunities for Shepard, which could be damaging in a crowded receiver corps. He's more of a WR3 given the risk.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 7:53pm ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard registered nine grabs for 111 yards on 11 targets in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard posted his second 100-yard game of the season, and the nine grabs and 11 targets were a season best. If you started him, congrats. He'll look to keep it going in Washington in Week 16. He had seven catches for 76 yards in the first meeting with the Redskins back on Sept. 29.

From TheHuddle

Dec 15 4:50pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard was the star receiver for the team a week after Darius Slayton exploded on primetime against the Eagles. Shepard was second on the team in targets last week, so his role in the offense was never in doubt. This week, he led the team with 11 targets, finishing with nine catches for 111 yards. If Eli Manning remains under center next week, Shepard looks likely to remain his top target.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 12:00pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard is being unfairly overlooked due to Darius Slayton's big game last weekend. Slayton did hit a few big plays, but Shepard still saw 24% of the Giants' targets (to Slayton's 27%) and played 92% of snaps (to Slayton's 81%). If Shepard is on the field more and seeing a near equal share of targets against a defense that ranks 26th in the NFL in PPR points allowed to wide receivers then he's just as likely to have a big game as Slayton and remains firmly on the WR3 radar. Given his route tree, he's likely more of a cash game option in DFS while Slayton could be use more in tournaments.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 12:23am ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard posted four receptions for 28 yards on seven targets in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard had a solid catch total, but the yardage left something to be desired. He remains more of a WR5 heading into Week 15 against the lowly Miami Dolphins.

From TheHuddle

Dec 9 11:50pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard was second on the team in targets with seven but only hauled in four passes for 28 yards. Whenever he is on the field, Shepard is a magnet for targets, regardless of who is under center. His consistently high volume means that he could be an intriguing, albeit risky, WR3 option next week against the Dolphins mediocre pass defense.

From RotoBaller

Dec 6 12:40pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard will see a downtick in value with both Golden Tate (concussion) and Evan Engram (foot) returning on Monday night. Shepard will move to the boundary receiver role with Tate back, which is actually a boost to his value, but there just simply might not be enough targets to go around. Eli Manning is also not able to buy time in the pocket for deep passes like Daniel Jones was, so Shepard may be less likely to hit on the big play. He's still viable as a WR4 or WR3 in deeper leagues, but he's far less reliable than he had been.

From RotoBaller

Dec 1 5:43pm ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard caught three passes for 40 yards and one touchdown against the Green Bay Packers in Week 13. He was targeted seven times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard has been targeted 16 times in two games since returning from injury but only has 55 yards during that span. He will continue to see plenty of targets in the passing game but may not be more than a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Nov 29 11:40am ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard figures to assume his natural role as a slot receiver with Golden Tate (concussion) set to miss Sunday's contest. In his first game back from a concussion of his own, Shepard immediately resumed his role as the most-targeted Giants wide receiver, a role which he figures to maintain this weekend. With the Giants likely to be trailing for much of this game, Shepard should be busy over the middle of the field. It wouldn't be surprising to see him rack up double-digit targets, which makes him a rock-solid WR3 in PPR formats and a solid play in DFS lineups.

From RotoBaller

Nov 24 7:33pm ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard ended up with five catches for 15 yards on nine targets in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard led the team in targets, but his yardage total was poor. He is only worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues as he is operating as the No. 3 receiver behind Darius Slayton and Golden Tate on a team which isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut. The Giants host the Packers in Week 13.

From TheHuddle

Nov 24 5:20pm ET

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard returned from his concussion and immediately led the team with nine targets. Shepard's final stat line wasn't impressive, with five catches for 15 yards, but seeing him return to such a heavy workload is a good sign. He seems to have jumped Darius Slayton and Golden Tate in the pecking order, which means he could be useful in certain matchups. The only problem is the Giants play the Packers next week, so he won't be a recommended play.

From RotoBaller

Nov 22 4:43pm ET

Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 12.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard was expected to return a few weeks ago but suffered a setback and had to miss a few more games. He will see a decent amount of targets this week but may only be a flex option because of the matchup.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 4:23pm ET

New York Giants TEs Rhett Ellison (concussion) and Evan Engram (foot) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Chicago Bears. OT Nate Solder (concussion), C Jon Halapio (hamstring), CB Janoris Jenkins (concussion), OT Mike Remmers (back) and WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 22, and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Nov 22 4:03pm ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) cleared the league's concussion protocol Friday, Nov. 22, and will play in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard hasn't played since Week 5, so owners are advised to see how things go against a tough pass defense before they consider starting him in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers. Prior to going down, the fourth-year pro saw nine targets in three consecutive games, so he could easily be worth starting as a WR3 during the fantasy playoffs if he returns to his previous role and stays healthy. Shepard's return will likely force rookie Darius Slayton back into more of a situational deep-threat role.

From TheHuddle

Nov 21 9:43pm ET

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) is 'looking good' to play against the Chicago Bears in Week 12, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Spin: Shepard has been out since early October, and while he has the potential to be a WR3, you will probably want to take a wait-and-see approach whenever he makes his return.
