2020 RTSports Outlook

There were some high hopes for Allison to take a big step forward last year but that didn't happen. He did have a career-best 34 receptions, but had just 287 yards and more than 50 yards in a game just once all season. Allison remains reserve material and likely will play that role with his new team, the Lions. Allison lacks some speed for the position but has pretty good hands and runs solid routes.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Allison could have a few big games but likely will be hit or miss in a reserve role most weeks. He could get around 30 receptions for 300 yards and a few scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

There is uncertainty in Green Bay for the first time in many years. A new head coach with Matt LaFleur taking over from Mike McCarthy means a change in offensive play calling, but with change comes opportunity. The depth chart after elite receiver Davante Adams is up for grabs, although Allison certainly looks like he will be the second option for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, the path to success isnt easy for Allison who will have to beat out the duo of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown. Valdes-Scantling and St. Brown both had opportunity to impress last season but ultimately failed to show any real consistency. Allison himself hasnt shown the highs that might have been expected of him in the Green Bay Packers offense, having played in the NFL for three seasons he has a total of just 55 receptions, 758 yards, and four touchdowns. However, last season was the first one where Allison was able to get a consistent opportunity in the early part of the season. In the four games that were completed in 2018, he was on pace for 1,156 yards and eight touchdowns. Ultimately his production is likely to fall in between those two marks but should be considered for late-round selection.

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Geronimo Allison (Packers) officially signed with the Detroit Lions Monday, April 6. Official terms of the contract were not disclosed.

From TheHuddle

Mar 29 2:10pm ET

The Detroit Lions agreed to terms with former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison on a one-year deal for $910,000 on Sunday. Allison will also receive a $137,500 signing bonus, which is the maximum for the veteran minimum. The 26-year-old had a career-high 34 catches in 2019 for only 287 yards (career-low 8.4 yards per catch) and two touchdowns in 16 games (six starts). Even with the Packers desperately looking for somebody to step up in the receiving game behind Davante Adams last season, Allison wasn't able to rise to the occasion. He won't have much of a chance for consistent playing time in his new home either, with Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola ahead of him. You can ignore Allison in standard-sized leagues unless an injury opens up a starting spot for him.

Unrestricted free-agent WR Geronimo Allison (Packers) agreed to a one-year, $910,000 contract Sunday, March 29, and the deal includes a $137,500 signing bonus.

From TheHuddle

Jan 19 11:30pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison caught two of three targets for eight yards in a 37-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. There were big expectations for Allison heading into 2019 in both the real and fantasy football worlds. Unfortunately for him, he lived up to neither, failing to eclipse 50 receiving yards in all but one game all year. Green Bay, who is in desperate need of another receiver behind Davante Adams, will have a decision to make about the 25-year-old, who is an unrestricted free agent. It's hard to see Allison being back in Green Bay in 2020.

From RotoBaller

Jan 17 5:33pm ET

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 17, and is not on the injury report for the NFC Championship game.

Fantasy Spin: Allison has only been targeted 12 times over the last five games and was held to nine yards in his last game against the San Francisco 49ers. He can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 17 2:40pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison (illness) is trending in the right direction to play in the NFC Championship game this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. Even if available, Allison isn't an option in any fantasy format. The 25-year-old hasn't caught more than four passes in a game this season. It sure doesn't seem like he'll eclipse that mark against the league's best defense with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

From RotoBaller

Jan 16 5:23pm ET

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (illness) was limited in practice Thursday, Jan. 16.

Fantasy Spin: It's an upgrade for Allison after he missed Wednesday's practice. He's likely to be limited for much of the week but should ultimately suit up for Sunday, Jan. 19's NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers. He made just one catch for 11 yards last week against the Seattle Seahawks and isn't worth much more than a desperation flier.

From TheHuddle

Jan 15 6:03pm ET

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (illness) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Fantasy Spin: Allison likely will be able to play in the NFC Championship as long as he recovers from the illness. He has caught at least four passes in only two games this season and can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jan 13 12:20pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison caught his lone target for 11 yards in a 28-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Once again, Green Bay won without the services of Allison, who has just one game with over 50 receiving yards this season. At some point, the Packers are going to need a receiver other than Davante Adams and Allen Lazard to step up. It could be Allison next week against a stingy 49ers Defense with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, though it's impossible to count on him for fantasy purposes.

From RotoBaller

Jan 9 7:40pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison can't be counted on for fantasy purposes against the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs. Allison played the third-highest snaps behind Davante Adams and Allen Lazard in the last three games of the regular season but caught only five passes combined. With his production far too low to count on and several receivers ahead of him in the pecking order, Allison is off the fantasy radar at the moment.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 9:10pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison caught three of four targets for 17 yards in a 23-20 win over the Detroit Lions. It's been a season to forget for Allison, who has exceeded 50 receiving yards once this year. Still, he's along for the ride as the Packers march to the playoffs with a first-round bye. He is firmly off the fantasy radar for the NFL playoffs.

From RotoBaller

Dec 26 9:00pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison isn't a recommended option against the Detroit Lions in Week 17. Allison hasn't caught more than four passes in a game and has exceeded 50 receiving yards only once. The 25-year-old has seen a decrease in snaps since Week 12. He shouldn't be near lineups in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 24 12:50am ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison was targeted twice but failed to record a reception in a 23-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings. It's been a forgettable season for Allison, who has totaled 31 catches for 270 yards and two touchdowns. It will be interesting to see what the Packers decide to do in the offseason with Allison, who has shown flashes. For now, he will take on the Detroit Lions in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 21 3:10pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison is not a recommended option in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings. The matchup is good- but to put it as kindly as possible, Allison hasn't been. He hasn't exceeded 30 receiving yards in seven games and has only gone over 50 once. Allison is too inconsistent to rely on in a critical week.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 7:10pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison caught two of four targets for 19 yards in a 21-13 win over the Chicago Bears. Allison's day included a drop on a ball Aaron Rodgers put right in his hands. Allison has now failed to exceed 50 receiving yards in all but one game this year. He's certainly off the fantasy radar for the remainder of the season.

From RotoBaller

Dec 13 6:13pm ET

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Fantasy Spin: Allison has been held to under 25 yards in each of the last six games and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 13 4:43pm ET

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (wrist, groin) and CB Kevin King (shoulder) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable for Week 15 against the Chicago Bears. WR Davante Adams (toe) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday, Dec. 13, but no longer appears on the injury report. WR Geronimo Allison (knee), CB Tony Brown (heel), OT Bryan Bulaga (rest), TE Marcedes Lewis (rest), LB Blake Martinez (hand), OL Billy Turner (knee), FB Dan Vitale (calf), CB Tramon Williams (rest) and CB Josh Jackson (personal) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Dec 12 5:43pm ET

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (knee) was upgraded to a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 12.

Fantasy Spin: Allison caught his lone target for an 11-yard gain in Week 14. He hasn't found the end zone since Week 4 and hasn't received five or more targets in a game since Week 7. He shouldn't be in lineups in 12-team leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 11 7:23pm ET

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Fantasy Spin: Allison has posted at least 50 yards in only one game this season and has been targeted three times or less in five of the last six games. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 11 6:00pm ET

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison (knee) and tight end Jimmy Graham (wrist) were limited participants in Wednesday's practice. Graham was limited last week but was able to play against the Redskins, so he should suit up this week barring a setback. Allison, on the other hand, is a new addition to the report and will have to prove he's healthy in the final two sessions. If healthy, both would be shaky starts in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears.
