The Houston Texans have met with left tackle Laremy Tunsil's representation to discuss a contract extension that could make him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL. Philadelphia's Lane Johnson currently holds that distinction with a $72 million deal that includes $55.845 million guaranteed and averages $18 million per season. Houston traded two first-round picks to acquire Tunsil from the Dolphins last season, and it was worth it, as he solidified the blind side and helped protect franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson. Tunsil sticking around long-term would be more good news for Watson.

From RotoBaller

Feb 26 12:40am ET

Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said that he will hand play-calling duties over to offensive coordinator Tim Kelly in 2020. O'Brien had been calling the offensive plays in Houston since he took over from former offensive coordinator George Godsey in 2016. Kelly will be in his second season as the OC and has worked with O'Brien since he was a graduate assistant at Penn State. The Texans finished 13th in the NFL in 2019 in yards per game (362). Kelly will also work closely with quarterback Deshaun Watson, and this news could actually raise the ceiling of Houston's entire offense next year. "Deshaun and [Kelly] have a great relationship," O'Brien said. "... Deshaun has great trust in Timmy and the work that Timmy puts in, what Tim brings to the meeting room and on the field. Tim is an excellent coach."

Jan 23 4:40pm ET

Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who will be entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2020, said he'd be happy to stay with the team for the long-term. "Whatever coach decides to do, I'm happy. I'd be happy to stay there with Deshaun (Watson) and help win games," Tunsil said. He was traded to the Texans from the Dolphins last season and was a massive upgrade for Houston's offensive line and quarterback Deshaun Watson. It remains to be seen if the team will offer Tunsil a long-term deal, but one thing that is certain is that Tunsil's presence on Watson's blind side is great news heading into next season as the Texans look to get back to the postseason.

Jan 12 7:00pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 388 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's playoff loss to the Chiefs. He was 31-for-52 throwing the ball and also added 37 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Watson had a strong 2019 campaign, though there were some times when he struggled with his consistency. He'll look to build off this season in 2020 and should wind up with an ADP of a top two or three quarterback.

From RotoBaller

Jan 12 6:43pm ET

Houston Astros QB Deshaun Watson completed 31-of-52 passes for 388 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 51-31 AFC Divisional Round playoff game loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, as the team blew a 24-0 lead. RB Carlos Hyde rushed 13 times for 44 yards, while Watson also added 37 yards and a score. WR DeAndre Hopkins ended up with nine grabs for 118 yards on a game-high 14 targets. WR Will Fuller was a nice secondary option with 89 yards on five catches, while WR Kenny Stills posted three receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. TE Darren Fells also had three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. RB Duke Johnson also chipped in with 11 rushing yards and five grabs for 23 yards. CB Lonnie Johnson also had a blocked kick return for touchdown in the first quarter while totaling four solo tackles.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was 20-for-25 in Saturday's win over the Buffalo Bills, with 247 passing yards and a touchdown. He also added 55 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Watson helped carry the Texans to the victory, making play after play to help them overcome a 16-0 deficit. Houston faces the Chiefs on Sunday, and Watson threw for 280 yards and rushed for a pair of touchdowns in their last meeting, though the Chiefs Defense has played improved football since then.

From RotoBaller

Jan 4 8:33pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson went 20-for-25 for 247 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card playoff game. He also rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries during the game. RB Carlos Hyde rushed for 48 yards on 16 carries and caught one pass for five yards and one touchdown. RB Duke Johnson rushed for 38 yards on three carries and caught three passes for 30 yards. WR DeAndre Hopkins caught six passes for 90 yards on eight targets, while WR Kenny Stills caught four passes for 46 yards on five targets.

From TheHuddle

Jan 4 6:00am ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has a tough matchup ahead on Saturday against a Bills Defense that allowed a third-best 12.52 fantasy points per game to opposing signal-callers. While Watson threw for at least 234 yards in four of his last five outings, he did so while throwing six picks during that span. Buffalo limited Lamar Jackson to just 145 passing yards back in Week 14, while also allowing him to post only 40 yards on the ground, which was his second-lowest of the year. While this doesn't necessarily mean that Watson will suffer the same fate, his outlook against the Bills doesn't look favorable, either.

From RotoBaller

Jan 3 9:23pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson faces the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round of the playoffs Saturday, Jan. 4, and the Bills allowed the fewest yards per rush (2.8) to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Fantasy Spin: Watson is certainly capable of beating opponents with his arm, but his running ability is a big reason why he has become of the premier fantasy quarterbacks. Facing a stingy Buffalo defense, owners may want to opt for a different quarterback in playoff contests this weekend.

From TheHuddle

Dec 29 7:33pm ET

Houston Texans QB A.J. McCarron started for QB Deshaun Watson (rest) in Week 17 against the Tennessee Titans, and he finished with 21-of-36 passes for 225 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while running for 39 yards and a score. RB Taiwan Jones led the team with 40 rushing yards on nine totes, while RB Carlos Hyde ended up with four runs for 13 yards. WR DeAndre Carter led the team with 65 receiving yards on six receptions, as WRs DeAndre Hopkins and WR Will Fuller were resting.

From TheHuddle

Dec 29 3:53pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (back) is officially active for the team's Week 17 game.

Fantasy Spin: Watson will be in uniform but is not expected to receive a lot of playing time during the game. Fantasy players should look for other quarterbacks and keep Watson on the bench.

From TheHuddle

Dec 29 3:20pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (back) and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (illness) are both active for Week 17 against the Titans. Both players were in danger of being rested ahead of wild-card weekend, but they will be active for the start of this game. That doesn't mean they won't be moved to the bench at some point against Tennessee, so both remain extremely risky DFS picks this weekend. Quarterback A.J. McCarron is expected to play most of this contest, while wide receivers Keke Coutee and Deandre Carter should see bigger roles with Kenny Stills and Will Fuller both inactive.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 11:23am ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is expected to serve as the backup to QB A.J. McCarron for Week 17's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Spin: Since the Texans have already clinched the AFC South, the team will likely rest Watson so that he can be ready for the beginning of the postseason next week. McCarron has only thrown one pass all season and should be avoided in most fantasy formats.

From TheHuddle

Dec 28 1:40pm ET

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson's Week 17 outlook is impossibly tough to figure out, as the Texans essentially won't know if they need to play their starters until just before their afternoon kickoff on Sunday against the Titans. A Chiefs win in the early window would give Houston nothing to play for, which could mean extended play for A.J. McCarron under center instead. Watson would be a QB1 option if he plays, but there's too much uncertainty unless you also roster a quarterback who doesn't play until after the first set of games conclude.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 4:23pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (back) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 27, and is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Fantasy Spin: The Texans may not have anything to play for in Week 17, so fantasy players will need to check the inactive list to see if Watson will play. He can be a starting option in fantasy leagues if he is active for the game.

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 4:13pm ET

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (groin) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Tennessee Titans. WR DeAndre Hopkins (illness) did not practice Friday, Dec. 27, and is listed as questionable. S Jahleel Addae (Achilles), LB Jake Martin (knee), WR Kenny Stills (knee), OT Laremy Tunsil (ankle), QB Deshaun Watson (back) and CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. LBs Brennan Scarlett (Achilles) and Benardrick McKinney (concussion) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Dec 27 3:40pm ET

Houston Texans wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins (illness) and Kenny Stills (knee) and quarterback Deshaun Watson (back) are all listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Titans. Left tackle Laremy Tunsil (ankle) is also questionable. With little to play for in the regular season finale, it's possible all of them could be inactive or limited on Sunday. That's bad news for fantasy owners relying on Hopkins, Watson or Stills this weekend. With Will Fuller (groin) already ruled out, Keke Coutee and Deandre Carter could play much bigger roles against Tennessee. A.J. McCarron would start under center if Watson isn't cleared. With a fantasy title on the line, relying on anyone in Houston's offense this week is risky business.

From RotoBaller

Dec 26 6:03pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (back) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 26.

Fantasy Spin: The Texans are expected to play their starters this week, so Watson should receive most of the snaps during the game and can be a No. 1 quarterback in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Dec 26 4:53pm ET

Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (groin) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 26. WR DeAndre Hopkins (illness), S Jahleel Addae (Achilles), LB Jake Martin (knee), LB Brennan Scarlett (Achilles), WR Kenny Stills (knee), OT Laremy Tunsil (ankle), CB Bradley Roby (hamstring) and QB Deshaun Watson (back) were limited. LB Benardrick McKinney (concussion) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Dec 25 4:43pm ET

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (back) was limited at practice Wednesday, Dec. 25.

Fantasy Spin: The Texans still have a shot to move into the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs, but they'll need the Kansas City Chiefs to lose Sunday, Dec. 29. The Texans play the later game and will know where they sit before kickoff. Watson won't be jeopardized, and fantasy managers will need to have another option at the ready.
