Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is coming off his worst game of the season, a 177-yard, two-interception outing against the Buffalo Bills in Week 6. He'll look to get back on track this week against a Jaguars defense that has struggled some over the past two games and allowed huge fantasy production from Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott last week, but fantasy owners must keep in mind how good the Jaguars have been against fantasy quarterbacks over the past two seasons. Start Watson, but don't feel as comfortable with that decision as you have at other times.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 18.
Fantasy Spin: Watson posted only 177 yards last week but should throw more than 25 times this week. He will be facing a solid Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 7 but can still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback for owners.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Fantasy Spin: Watson was held to 177 yards last week and has thrown at least one interception in every game this season. He will be facing a solid Jacksonville Jaguars defense this week but can still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in most leagues.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson completed 15-of-25 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Week 6 game against the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy Spin: It wasn't a great performance for Watson, who entered the game dinged up with a chest injury which clearly bothered him against the Dallas Cowboys last week. It might be a good idea to reserve him in Week 7 on the road against a hard-hitting Jacksonville Jaguars defense even though he is a fantasy stud when 100 percent healthy.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for just 177 yards in Sunday's victory over the Buffalo Bills, tossing a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. The Bills defense sacked Watson seven times and kept him from using his legs as a weapon, as he ended the game with just two rushing yards on two attempts. Watson fill face another tough test next week against Jacksonville, though their Week 6 performance against the Cowboys showed they're vulnerable to running quarterbacks.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (chest) is active for Week 6 against the Bills. Despite being questionable, there was no question that Watson would suit up for this game. He has looked more like his fantastic 2017 self in the last several games and should remain a strong QB1 option despite facing a Bills team that has been surprisingly tough against opposing signal-callers.
Houston Texans WR Deshaun Watson (chest) is officially active for the team's Week 6 game.
Fantasy Spin: Watson should not be limited in any way this week and is coming off a productive Week 5 performance. He can be a solid No. 1 fantasy quarterback in all leagues.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (chest) will likely play against the Bills in Week 6. After taking a tough shot against the Cowboys during Sunday Night Football, Watson was limited during practice throughout the week. However, all signs point to him being good to go, and will likely put a hurting on an inconsistent Bills defense.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) is listed as questionable to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 but is expected to play, according to a source.
Fantasy Spin: There is always a chance he could aggravate the injury, but Watson's dual-threat ability is worth that risk.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (chest) was limited in practice all week and is questionable for Week 6 against the Bills. Watson is fully expected to play and has a great matchup in Buffalo's defense. Watson has been on a roll lately and has looked more like the rookie that broke out in 2017 before his knee injury. Start Watson with confidence as a strong QB1 this weekend that will have all of his offensive weapons at his disposal.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 12, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.
Fantasy Spin: Watson said earlier in the week that he will be able to play, so owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has played well so far this season and would be a No. 1 fantasy quarterback if he plays.
Despite only allowing two passing touchdowns over the past three games, the Buffalo Bills defense shouldn't be too much of a barrier this week for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has throw for 375 or more yards in three consecutive games for Houston. Watson's rushing ability contributes to his upside, as he's currently averaging 40.2 rushing yards per game this season. While his matchup limits his upside somewhat, he should still finish as a QB1 this week.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 11.
Fantasy Spin: Watson said he believes he will be able to play in Week 6, so owners should not worry about his availability. He has thrown for at least 300 yards in each of the last four games but has also thrown an interception in all five games. He can still be considered a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues this week.
If Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson throws for at least 375 yards in Week 6 then he will become the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to throw for at least that many yards in four consecutive games.
Fantasy Spin: Watson has been on fire, not only through the air but on the ground. Over his last four games he is averaging over 400 total yards and two total touchdowns. As long as he's healthy, he's comfortably in QB1 territory.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Fantasy Spin: Watson was clearly shaken up in the second half of the Dallas game, as the Cowboys defense put a lot of pressure on him with several big blows. He was able to gut it out, and he is clearly not at 100 percent. Still, if he plays, he is a solid low-end QB1, especially against the beleaguered Buffalo Bills.
Houston Texans LB Jadeveon Clowney (illness), CB Aaron Colvin (ankle) and LB Brian Peters (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 10. WR Keke Coutee (hamstring), WR Will Fuller (hamstring), TE Ryan Griffin (toe), WR DeAndre Hopkins (foot), CB Johnathan Joseph (hip), RB Lamar Miller (chest), QB Deshaun Watson (chest) and CB Shareece Wright (shoulder, hand) were limited in practice.
Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (chest), wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins (foot), Will Fuller (hamstring) and rookie Keke Coutee (hamstring), running back Lamar Miller (chest) and tight end Ryan Griffin (toe) were all limited in practice Wednesday. Watson and Miller say they will both for sure play against the Bills this weekend. While Watson took a bunch of hard hits on Sunday night, he should be in play as a midrange QB1 in a fine matchup. Miller could wind up sharing touches with Alfred Blue and has been ineffective as an RB3/flex through four games. Hopkins has been on the injury report all year but has never been close to missing a game. Continue chalking him up as an elite WR1. Fuller was clearly playing at less than 100 percent last week, which led to more work for Coutee. When fully healthy, though, Fuller is a strong WR2 with great chemistry with Watson. Griffin had a season-high six catches on nine targets for 65 yards last week, but he remains more of a high-end TE2.
Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson (chest) said he expects to play this week after significant soreness from hits he took as a runner in Week 5.
Fantasy Spin: Watson is a top-five quarterback in fantasy this season, and he'll remain a high-end QB1 against the Buffalo Bills.
When asked if Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (chest) had a chance to play in Week 6 against the Bills, head coach Bill O'Brien said, "Oh yeah." Houston is being rather coy about how seriously Watson was injured after taking multiple heavy hits on scrambles against the Cowboys on Sunday night. He might miss some practice time this week, but we fully expect Watson to suit up this Sunday. He'll be a midrange QB1 against Buffalo.
Houston's QB Deshaun Watson scored 25.75 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 5 win against the Cowboys. Watson threw for 375 yards on 33-of-44 with one touchdown and one interception.
