The Denver Broncos placed linebacker Dre Greenlaw on short-term injured reserve Saturday, the team announced, sidelining him for at least four games due to a thigh injury.
Greenlaw, 28, will be eligible to return Week 7 against the New York Giants. He has yet to play this season after the injury kept him out of the offseason program and preseason.
Head coach Sean Payton said Greenlaw sustained another issue with the same thigh during training camp, calling it a "different" injury. The club had hoped to ramp him up in practice and target a Week 4 return against the Bengals, but that timeline is off the table with the IR move.
The Broncos elevated linebacker Garret Wallow from the practice squad for Sunday's game.
Greenlaw signed a three-year, $31.5 million contract in March, the second-largest deal Denver gave an external free agent this offseason. He appeared in two games in 2024 after tearing his Achilles in Super Bowl LVIII.
In 64 games (56 starts) over six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Greenlaw had 3.5 sacks, 455 tackles (including 18 for loss), three interceptions (including one for a touchdown), two forced fumbles, 14 passes defended and nine quarterback hits. He was a fifth-round pick by San Francisco in 2019.
Denver's roster moves at linebacker come as the team looks for stability in the middle of its defense. With Greenlaw out, Alex Singleton, Justin Strnad and Karene Reid project to handle the bulk of the snaps, while Wallow provides depth and special-teams help.
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff dominated the Chicago Bears in Week 2, completing 23 of 28 pass attempts for 334 yards and five touchdowns. The 30-year-old will now face a significantly tougher test in Week 3 as the Lions travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens on Monday Night Football. The last time Detroit played in Baltimore back in 2023, Goff struggled. He completed 33 of 53 pass attempts for 284 yards but threw an interception and did not have a touchdown. The Ravens' defense has allowed the second-most passing yards per game (298.5) so far this season, so Detroit's passing game may have some success. Still, Goff profiles outside the top-12 at his position for fantasy in Week 3 and should be avoided where possible in single-QB formats.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers has stepped up and filled the role as the No. 1 wideout on this roster. Through two games, Flowers has hauled in 14 of his 20 targets for 218 yards with one touchdown. Fantasy managers love seeing the chemistry between Flowers and quarterback Lamar Jackson grow each week. The two of them head into a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 3. Flowers wasn't elite last week, but should remain plugged in as a WR1 for this Monday night contest.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has done exactly what fantasy managers expected of him. Through two games, Jackson has thrown for 434 yards with six touchdowns and zero interceptions. He has also added an additional 83 yards on eight rushing attempts with another score on the ground. Jackson has looked sharp through his first two games and that should continue in Week 3. He'll draw an elite matchup against the Detroit Lions on Monday night. There's few quarterbacks that will be a better option than Jackson for Week 3. Fantasy managers need to lock him into their lineups as a high-end QB1.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry was surprisingly shut down during last week's win over the Cleveland Browns. He couldn't find much success at all as he rushed 11 times for 23 yards on the ground. It's not often that fantasy managers see Henry actually get bottled up. The expectation is that Henry will go back to his elite ways on the ground in Week 3. He'll draw a strong matchup against the Detroit Lions defense on Monday night. Fantasy managers should forget about that Week 2 dud and lock-in Henry as an elite RB1 for this weekend.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine caught only two passes for six yards in the Week 1 win over the Browns. It's hard to play worse than that. However, that's exactly what happened in Week 2 versus Jacksonville, with Perine finishing without a blip in any statistical category. While the 30-year-old continues to serve as the backup to running back Chase Brown, he likely won't be given many opportunities to produce in the Week 3 meeting with the Minnesota Vikings, no matter if he logs more than the 20 snaps he had against the Jags. With Jake Browning under center in place of the injured Joe Burrow (toe), Perine's outlook remains the same. Keep him out of any fantasy lineup on Sunday.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (illness) has been added to the injury report and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to Seahawks PR. The Seahawks' WR1 has had a strong start, ranking second in the league in receiving yards with 227 on 17 receptions. He also leads the league with a 28% target share. If Smith-Njigba can't play, fantasy managers should see an increase in targets for veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp and rookie Tory Horton.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins pulled in three of his four targets for 33 yards in the Week 1 win over the Browns. As expected, that performance didn't sit well with fantasy managers. In all fairness, the entire offense struggled in that one. While the wideout caught as many passes in Week 2 against Jacksonville, he totaled 56 yards. Even better, he scored a touchdown. Unfortunately, the Bengals will need to navigate their way forward without quarterback Joe Burrow (foot). In his place, Jake Browning will get the start. Naturally, many are concerned about how Burrow's absence will impact the offense. However, Higgins will need to piece together more than a few subpar showings with Browning under center before fantasy managers should consider benching him. For now, he's still a starting fantasy option, so managers in all formats can keep him rolling in Week 3 versus the Vikings.

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter's impact has been limited through the first two games of the season, according to a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic. Although the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft saw increased snaps on both sides of the ball in Week 2, his overall usage is still developing. Hunter missed time during training camp due to an upper-body injury, which may have contributed to his slow start. He has accumulated 55 receiving yards on offense, along with three tackles and one pass defended on defense so far. Considering his demanding two-way role, fantasy managers should regard Hunter as a long-term hold in dynasty leagues and a wait-and-see option in all other formats.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Detroit Lions. The young tight end, who broke his foot in training camp and underwent surgery to repair it, has been limited to individual drills at practice all week. Although he was not placed on Injured Reserve, which allows him to return at any time, he will not be a factor this week. Last season, Likely posted a solid stat line of 42 receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns. However, the Ravens have one of the lowest target shares to the tight end position this year, with only five targets in two games, four of which went to veteran Mark Andrews. Likely should continue to be stashed in most formats and hopefully will see the field in Week 4.

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Kaleb Johnson is expected to be a healthy scratch for Sunday's game, according to a source at Steelers Depot. The team elevated running back Trey Sermon from the practice squad on Saturday, a strong indication that Johnson will be a healthy scratch. The third-round pick out of Iowa has had a limited role in the first two weeks, logging just two rushes for negative one yard. His inactive status follows a notable special teams gaffe last week, in which he failed to field a kickoff, resulting in a Seattle touchdown. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has stated that Johnson "will likely not return kickoffs in the short term," further cementing his demotion. Johnson holds no fantasy value at this time and can be left on waivers or stashed in deeper leagues.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown hasn't had the best start to the season. While the 25-year-old found the end zone in the Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, he has only 90 yards off 37 attempts for a subpar 2.4 yards per carry in the first two games. He isn't always the strongest runner. However, Brown has normally made up for it by catching passes out of the backfield. Unfortunately, he's struggled in that area as well by amassing just four receptions (six targets) for 26 yards. The Bengals are 2-0 through the first two weeks of the season, although Cincinnati will be tested moving forward without Joe Burrow (toe) under center for the foreseeable future. With Jake Browning now atop the depth chart, many are wondering how his presence will impact Brown and the rest of the Bengals offense. With that said, the 2023 No. 163 overall pick was taken in the second or third rounds in fantasy drafts heading into the 2025 campaign. For that reason alone, there's not really a scenario where managers can afford to keep him benched in Week 3 versus the Minnesota Vikings.

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift (hamstring) is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Swift was limited in practice all week and is officially listed as questionable. Through the first two games, Swift has carried 29 times for 116 yards and one touchdown, plus six catches for 18 yards in the passing game. He's now facing a Dallas defense that has been vulnerable to the run, allowing 4.1 yards per carry so far this season. The favorable matchup, along with his expected availability, makes Swift a solid RB2/Flex option for fantasy managers in Week 3.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the team "just (doesn't) have the spot right now" for running back Keaton Mitchell, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. Mitchell has been a healthy scratch for each of the team's first two games of 2025. He appears to be behind Ravens backs Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, and Rasheen Ali, with Ali getting the nod over Mitchell due to his special teams ability. Mitchell missed most of 2024 due to a knee injury, but he flashed upside in 2023, recording 396 yards and two touchdowns on 47 carries. At this point, the 23-year-old likely needs a change of scenery or an injury to one of the backs in front of him in Baltimore to revitalize his career. Mitchell should remain off the radar of fantasy managers.

Baltimore Ravens beat writer Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic predicts that Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) will not make his 2025 season debut until Week 4. Likely underwent foot surgery in August and has not suited up for the Ravens yet this season. He's been able to return to the practice field, but only in a limited capacity. In 16 games for Baltimore in 2024, Likely recorded 42 catches for 477 yards and six touchdowns. His absence should theoretically improve the outlook for Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, but Andrews has just two catches through his first two games of 2025. When both Ravens tight ends are active, it's difficult for fantasy managers to trust either to provide consistent top-12 fantasy production at the position.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (collarbone, foot) has officially been placed on Injured Reserve, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. This move comes as no surprise after Reed suffered a fractured collarbone in Week 2. He had also been attempting to play through a Jones fracture in his foot, so Reed underwent operations on both injuries earlier this week. The IR placement guarantees Reed will miss at least four games, but he's almost certain to be out significantly longer than that. Without him, Packers wide receivers Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Matthew Golden could all see a bump in both snaps and target volume. Reed could be stashed in fantasy leagues that offer an IR spot, but there's no guarantee he will be able to return in time to make an impact later this season.

Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos has been quiet to start his 17th NFL season. After missing a field goal in Week 1, he converted all of his extra-point attempts in Week 2's loss to the Detroit Lions. Head coach Ben Johnson's aggressive approach on fourth downs has limited Santos' fantasy upside, as opportunities for field goals have been capped. In Week 3, the Bears face the Dallas Cowboys, who have allowed the most points in the NFL through the first two weeks. While a high-scoring game is likely, Santos remains a high-risk kicker option in fantasy this week.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has been quiet to start the 2025 season. With the addition of Colston Loveland, many speculated Kmet might lose his starting role. Despite a dip in production, Kmet's snap share (90%) and route rate (73%) remain high compared to Loveland, who is barely reaching 50% in both areas. Kmet draws a much more favorable matchup in Week 3. The Dallas Cowboys have allowed the most points and yards to opposing offenses so far in 2025, and with a likely pass-heavy game script, Kmet could see some opportunities. With Loveland's potential emergence looming, Kmet is a high-risk TE2 in Week 3.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft (knee) is expected to play in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The third-year tight end had quite the scare this week, sustaining the injury during practice on Thursday and missing practice Friday, but appears to have dodged anything serious. Kraft has been excellent so far this season, compiling eight catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns across the first two games, but it remains to be seen what kind of usage he'll actually see come game time on Sunday. Due to the injury and a matchup against a strong Cleveland defense, managers will have a decision to make about starting Kraft or another tight end.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears rookie tight end Colston Loveland has yet to establish a significant role in the offense. Through two games, Loveland has played 50% of the snaps, while veteran Cole Kmet dominates with 90% of the snaps. The 2025 tenth-overall pick faces a favorable matchup in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, who have allowed the most points and yards of any defense in the NFL so far in 2025. While a breakout performance is possible, Loveland's limited role keeps him on the bench in most fantasy formats this week.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns wide receiver DeAndre Carter (concussion) is off the injury report and set to play in Week 3. After being limited earlier in the week, Carter practiced fully on Friday and passed concussion protocol. Carter has been the Browns' primary kick returner, returning five kickoffs and three punts so far this season. He has yet to play a snap on the offensive side of the ball. He faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 and will likely see a heavy workload on kick returns in this tough matchup. Despite being active, Carter carries no fantasy value this week, as he looks to carve out a role in Cleveland's passing attack.
