McMillan setup for big Week 6
The season is moving right along, right? We are already five weeks into things. If things aren’t going well, don’t get too down. You have some time to make it up but make your move now. If you fall much farther behind, it might be too hard to climb out of that hole. So if you need to make a trade to give your team a spark or make a bold lineup decision, go for it. Just don’t do anything too rash. The top teams in your league like to take advantage of the bottom teams in the standings. Just be smart when you make those moves.
With that said, here are my random thoughts for the week. . . . .
I’m really happy to see the Bengals get Joe Flacco to take over their quarterback duties. I know Flacco hasn’t been great this year with the Browns, but he is a big upgrade for the Bengals at quarterback. This is a big positive to all their fantasy players. There is concern that Flacco doesn’t move around well behind the Bengals poor offensive line, but I’ll still take him over Jake Browning. This is a positive.
Patrick Mahomes is sure rebounding from his down season last year. He is even doing this without his top receiver, Rashee Rice, and a less than 100 percent Xavier Worthy. Mahomes is second overall in fantasy quarterback scoring, right behind Josh Allen. Mahomes has 30-plus points two straight games and at least 24 points four of five games. Mahomes is making all those fantasy owners that grabbed him after the top quarterbacks were off the board look pretty smart right about now. And his numbers could get even better as the season progresses.
I could not be more surprised than I am with Darren Waller. I thought he was washed and wouldn’t make much of an impact upon his return to the NFL. But he is looking sharp and has touchdowns each of his first two games. And he isn’t even playing a ton just yet, playing 28 percent in Week 4 and 58 percent last week. If his playing time keeps increasing, his numbers could get even better. Let’s just hope he can stay healthy.
I have gotten a lot of questions about the Chargers back I would target on the waiver wire. I don’t have a great feel for this one but might lean Hassan Haskins if you made me pick. I don’t feel strongly about this, though. Haskins is a little better pass catcher. I think he is more of a three-down back than Vidal. Again, this is a close call. It truly might be a timeshare with the Chargers going with the back that has the hot hand. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the approach the Chargers end up taking.
Who would have thought the Ravens would be a team to target when setting your fantasy lineups? This defense is just a disaster right now - both against the run and pass. When you see the Ravens as the opposition for one of your fantasy players, you should be feeling pretty good. I don’t see a sudden turnaround for this terrible unit. Not good.
We guess it was too early to write off Deebo Samuel. A lot were concerned about his weight and fitness, but he is showing he is in just fine shape. Samuel is eighth overall in fantasy receiver scoring right now. Wow. He has at least six receptions four of five games and seven carries. His versatility and consistency as a pass catcher in this offense give him a great weekly floor. Samuel seems to have revived his career with a move to Washington. I don’t think he is a sell-high candidate. I would hold onto him.
Cam Skattebo is a fun story and a fun player to watch, but I don’t see him as a legit NFL starter. I think he would be better served as a top backup and situational player. He averages just 3.8 yards per carry, which ranks 125th overall. And for a man of his size, he averaged just 1.7 yards after contact. This ranks 28th overall and is supposed to be his strong suit. Maybe he’ll prove me wrong going forward, but I just don’t see it with Skattebo right now.
News and Notes: The Browns traded quarterback Joe Flacco and a sixth-round draft pick to the Bengals for a fifth-round draft pick on Tuesday. Flacco is expected to take over the starting role for the Bengals immediately. . . . .Free-agent receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended six games by the NFL for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. . . . .The Colts signed kicker Michael Badgley on Tuesday. Badgley should get first shot at the starting kicking duties for the Colts with Spencer Shrader out for the season.
HOT PLAYS
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Raiders. Jeanty is starting to show some much-needed signs of life. He topped 100 total yards last week for the second straight game. He has 15-plus fantasy points each of his last two games. The big positive for him from a fantasy perspective is his added work in the passing game. He had a season-high five receptions last week and has seven his last two games. Look for another game with 100-plus total yards this week against the Titans. Tennessee allows the third most fantasy points to running backs. The Titans have allowed at least 129-rushing yards every game this season.
Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams. Stafford is red hot, having two straight games with 30-plus fantasy points. And he did this against two pretty good pass defenses. He topped 370-passing yards each of those last two games and had three touchdowns each of the games. Stafford has multiple touchdowns four straight games. He gets a dream matchup this week against the Ravens, a team that can’t stop anyone defensively. Baltimore allows the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Romeo Doubs, WR, Packers. Doubs had a three-touchdown performance his last time out and has found the end zone two of three games. He has been on the field more than any Packers receiver this season, playing at least 71 percent of the snaps every game. He isn’t flashy but consistent and has a knack for producing in the red zone. We like for him to find the end zone again this week against the Bengals, a team that has allowed at least 27 points four straight games.
Cam Skattebo, RB, Giants. Skattebo might not be producing big numbers on the field but the volume is giving him good fantasy numbers on a weekly basis. He has 13-plus fantasy points four straight games. Skattebo has more than 20 total touches each of his last two games. Look for more of the same volume this week against the Eagles, a team that allows the eighth most fantasy points to running backs. Skattebo should finish with solid fantasy numbers once again in this one.
Jake Ferguson, TE, Cowboys. Ferguson is now first overall in fantasy tight end scoring. That might be a little surprising to some but he is racking up the catches on a weekly basis. He has nearly 20 more fantasy points than nearly any other tight end. Ferguson has at least seven receptions four straight games. He has 16-plus fantasy points each of those games. He can keep it going this week against the Panthers, a team that struggles to stop the tight end. Carolina allows the second-most fantasy points to tight ends.
COLD PLAYS
Daniel Jones, QB, Colts. Jones is still playing just fine but has started to cool a little for fantasy teams. He has fewer than 20 gnats points three straight games. He has been pretty ho-hum for fantasy teams after two huge games to begin the season. We think another so-so showing could be in store for this week against the Cardinals. Arizona allows the sixth fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and has not allowed more than 23 points in any game this season.
D’Andre Swift, RB, Bears. Swift has decent fantasy numbers this year but is becoming a bit of a touchdown-dependent player. He has fewer than 40-rushing yards two straight games and his season high in rushing yards is just 63. His numbers on the ground have not been good. We can see him struggling again this week against the Commanders, a team that has allowed less than 100-rushing yards two of five games. Washington allows the 10th fewest fantasy points to running backs.
James Cook, RB, Bills. Cook is having a great season but showed last week he is human. He ran for just 49 yards, which was the second time this season he finished with fewer than 50-rushing yards. He had three straight 100-plus yard rushing games before last week. Cook might struggle to find room to run again this week against a very good Falcons rush defense. Atlanta allows the fewest fantasy points to running backs. It is tough to bench Cook because of his high ceiling, but you might want to just taper your expectations for him in this one.
Kyle Pitts, TE, Falcons. Pitts had his best fantasy game of the season his last time out, scoring 18 fantasy points. He had fewer than eight points each of his previous two games, though. He still isn’t as consistent as you would like. Pitts probably remains in that matchup play category and a game against Buffalo isn’t a good one for him. The Bills have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Buffalo has shut down some pretty good tight ends, including Mark Andrews, Mason Taylor, Juwan Johnson and Hunter Henry. This matchup is a concern for Pitts.
Jaylen Waddle, WR, Dolphins. Waddle enjoyed his best game of the season last week, having his first 100-yard showing of the season. He had six receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. The concern is his numbers were pretty down before that big performance. He had fewer than 50 yards three of four games to start the season. Last week was encouraging but he might not be a plug-and-play player at this point of the season, especially this week against a really good Chargers secondary. Los Angeles allows the third fewest fantasy points to receivers. The Chargers allowed 150 or fewer passing yards three straight games before last week.
SLEEPERS
Hassan Haskins, RB, Chargers. You aren’t sure the back that is going to be No. 1 on the depth chart with Omarion Hampton out, but Haskins is our pick for now. And if he starts this week against the Dolphins, Haskins could produce big. The Dolphins have been gashed on the ground this year, allowing 155-plus rushing yards four of five games. They allowed more than 200-rushing yards to the Panthers last week. Haskins is worth a shot for fantasy owners in this prime matchup.
Xavier Legette, WR, Panthers. Legette returned from his hamstring injury last week and played 79 percent of the snaps. He has played at least 78 percent of the snaps all three of his games this season, getting plenty of playing time. The production hasn’t always been there but it just seems a matter of time before his numbers start getting more consistent. He had 15 targets his first two games of the season, which is really encouraging. He found the end zone last week and gets a great matchup against the Cowboys in Week 6. Dallas allows the most fantasy points to receivers, making Legette a good spot play.
Tutu Atwell, WR, Rams. Atwell is starting to see the field more often, earning more playing time. He played a season-high 66 percent of the snaps last week. He had two receptions for 72 yards and has 70-plus yards each of his last two games. Atwell is capable of breaking the big play any given week. And a game against the Ravens is a good chance for him to make one of those big plays. Baltimore allows the second most fantasy points to receivers and can’t stop anyone right now, allowing at least 37 points four of five games.
Dillon Gabriel, QB, Browns. Gabriel looked pretty good in his first NFL start. He didn’t take many chances down the field but moved the offense and made some plays. Gabriel finished with a respectable 18 fantasy points against a good Vikings defense. He has a favorable matchup for more success this week against the Browns longtime rival, the Steelers. Pittsburgh allows the fourth most fantasy points to quarterbacks and at least 250-passing yards three straight games. Gabriel might be worth a look for fantasy teams in Week 6.
AJ Dillon, RB, Eagles. This is a long shot but Saquon Barkley is banged up and might not get his full workload on a short week. Dillon might get a few more chances than normal because of this. He has played the second-most snaps of any Eagles back this year. His numbers are solid with his few chances, rushing 11 times for 58 yards. If he can get near double-digit touches, he could end up helping fantasy teams in Week 6. Dillon also has a prime matchup for success against the Giants, a team that allows the seventh most fantasy points to running backs.
High/Low Scoring Games
Each week we will take a look at some of the high and low scoring games for the coming week. In high scoring affairs, get your marginal players on those teams in your lineup to take advantage of the possible points barrage. And in the low scoring games, keep those marginal players on the bench and make sure to have your defenses involved in those contests.
High Scoring Games: Cardinals/Colts, Cowboys/Panthers, Rams/Ravens, 49ers/Bucs, Lions/Chiefs, Bills/Falcons, Bears/Commanders.
Low Scoring Games: Browns/Steelers, Titans/Raiders,
Bye Weeks: Texans, Vikings.

Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt has taken a back seat in the rushing attack recently, causing his value to slide ahead of the fantasy playoffs. The rookie garnered a ton of hype this summer and began the season as the clear leader of Washington's backfield. However, a significant dip in efficiency starting back in Week 6 has been a death knell for the 24-year-old's workload. Over that time frame, Croskey-Merritt has eclipsed 3.5 yards per carry in a given game on just three occasions. Conversely, teammate Chris Rodriguez Jr. (groin) has boasted double-digit carries in four of the last five games, marking a shift in the team's game plan. With Rodriguez Jr. questionable for Sunday's outing with the Giants, Croskey-Merritt may see a modest uptick in touch load. Still, he's clearly fallen out of favor with the coaching staff and can be avoided outside of a stash in dynasty formats.

New York Jets wide receiver John Metchie III is a high-risk fantasy option for his Week 15 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and potentially moving forward with the offense in flux. The former second-round pick of the 2022 NFL Draft has carved out a nice role with the team since he was acquired via trade with the Texans. Since Week 11, Metchie has led his positional cohorts in snaps and has picked up at least seven targets in three straight outings -- an excellent opportunity floor. However, he'll be a less stable asset this weekend with rookie Brady Cook calling signals for the Jets. Even if Cook's tenure as the starter lasts just one game, teammate Garrett Wilson's (knee) looming return would spell the end for Metchie's run as New York's WR1. For now, fantasy managers can rely on him as a low-end PPR alternative, but that output only figures to be sustainable while Wilson is still on IR.
From RotoBaller
Wide receiver Romeo Doubs has found it challenging to stay relevant in the Green Bay Packers' offense recently as the unit returns to health. Doubs was excellent earlier in the campaign, ripping off a string of viable fantasy performances as the only other option in the aerial attack aside from tight end Tucker Kraft (knee). However, the return of teammate Christian Watson and now Jayden Reed has hindered his output in that aspect. Since Watson returned in Week 8, Doubs has hauled in more than two passes in a game only thrice, including outings with one and zero receptions. Moreover, the former is just 90 receiving yards behind him (542-452) despite appearing in six fewer contests. With Green Bay's receiving corps nearly at full strength, Doubs slides in the rankings and is a particularly risky asset for fantasy on a team with the fourth-lowest pass rate in the league (51.98%).

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington (hip) has seemingly fallen off the fantasy radar in recent weeks, and it isn't only due to his injury. The 23-year-old has stepped up superbly for the team this season, as they've dealt with a few injuries to their WR corps. However, he's taken somewhat of a back seat since Jacksonville acquired former Las Vegas Raider Jakobi Meyers at the November trade deadline. In the three full appearances played together, Meyers has out-caught (12-10) and out-gained (155-124) Washington, despite the latter out-targeting him 16-15. As it stands, Meyers has led the position in snaps three games running, pushing Washington down the ranks of the passing game hierarchy. The Penn State product should still have some productive weeks, but fantasy managers can look elsewhere for help in the playoffs, particularly while he battles a hip ailment.
From RotoBaller
Despite beginning the season with a strong role in the offense, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange has taken a slight step back recently in terms of production. The third-year pro missed a stretch of five games earlier in the year due to a hip injury. While Strange has remained involved, commanding 15 targets over the previous three games since his return, new teammate Jakobi Meyers has hampered his upside. Furthermore, wideout Brian Thomas Jr. figures to see an uptick in work as he's further removed from an ankle injury. Strange may be a critical piece of the Jags' attack, although too many mouths to feed in an offense that ranks in the bottom 12 of the league in pass rate (54.52%) makes him a riskier option than earlier in the campaign.

Houston Texans tight end Harrison Bryant (neck/shoulder) has been activated from injured reserve ahead of Week 15. Bryant was placed on injured reserve in Week 11 due to a neck and shoulder injury he had sustained earlier this season. The 27-year-old had recorded two catches for seven yards on six targets before missing time due to these injuries. In response to his activation, the Texans have waived running back Cody Schrader. Bryant's potential return on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals will add much-needed depth to the Texans' tight end room behind starter Dalton Schultz.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks rookie tight end Elijah Arroyo has been placed on injured reserve ahead of Seattle's Week 15 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Arroyo was placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury that forced him to exit early in their Week 14 win in Atlanta. The 22-year-old rookie has played in 13 games this season, catching 15 passes for 179 yards and one touchdown. Arroyo was selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft after garnering a lot of hype during the predraft process. With Arroyo landing on injured reserve, expect Eric Saubert and Nick Kallerup to see more work in the Seahawks offense for the remainder of the regular season. The move will end Arroyo's regular-season rookie campaign, but he can return for the playoffs.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets wide receiver Adonai Mitchell has been the next receiver to fall victim to an inconsistent offense. Mitchell was a part of the blockbuster trade where the Indianapolis Colts sent him and two future first-round picks to the Jets in exchange for cornerback Sauce Gardner. The trade took place right before the deadline, and at the time, it shook up both teams' long-term and short-term plans. Since arriving in New York, Mitchell has seen only one game with over three catches despite seeing six or more targets in every game. The Jets offense will also have rookie quarterback Brady Cook, a 2024 undrafted free agent, starting for the first time in his NFL career against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Mitchell will remain an unreliable fantasy option for fantasy managers heading into Week 15.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton has taken back the WR1 role in the Broncos' offense over the last two weeks. The 30-year-old has been able to rekindle his connection with Bo Nix and has taken advantage of positive matchups against the Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders. In back-to-back games, Sutton has had 11 catches for 124 yards with one touchdown on 16 targets. Sutton was also able to reach double-digit targets in last Sunday's game for the first time since Week 7. This performance was able to boost his season-long stats and now leads the Broncos in every receiving statistical category. Sutton will face tougher competition on Sunday against a Green Bay Packers defense that has allowed the fewest yards per reception. Despite this, Sutton's reemergence in the Broncos' offense allows fantasy managers to fire him up as a dependable flex option in Week 15.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams got off to a slow start in 2025, but has emerged as one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the league in the second half of the season. The 24-year-old wideout is one of only six receivers and tight ends to post more than 500 yards since Week 9, along with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Nico Collins, Michael Wilson, Puka Nacua, and Trey McBride. Williams has taken full advantage of his increased opportunities with Sam LaPorta (back) on Injured Reserve. He possesses weekly upside for long touchdowns that few players in the league can match. He profiles as a borderline WR1 in fantasy for a potential Week 15 shootout against the Los Angeles Rams.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is looking to bounce back after a few lackluster games. Purdy has been held to under 200 passing yards with three interceptions over his last two contests. The 25-year-old hasn't been an ideal fantasy option lately, but could be on the upswing. Purdy heads into a favorable matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15. A defense that gave up over 350 passing yards to Shedeur Sanders last week. The Titans are currently allowing the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. All signs are pointing to Purdy having a bounce-back performance this weekend. He should be put in the QB1 conversation for this weekend.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller hasn't been able to find the same success that he experienced earlier in the season. Since returning from injury, Waller has been held to three receptions for 60 yards over the last two games. The good news is, Waller is heading into a plus-matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15. A defensive unit that is allowing over 16 PPR fantasy points to tight ends this season, according to Yahoo Sports. Waller has proven he is capable of making big plays when he's given the chance. He could be worth a look as a deep league option for fantasy managers who are desperate for help at tight end.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is in the midst of his best season as a runner, averaging a career-high 69.8 rushing yards per game with six total touchdowns. Swift has been Chicago's lead back for most of the season, but has been splitting carries with rookie seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai in recent weeks. The 26-year-old back's workload has remained consistent, even as Monangai has earned more work with the Bears leaning more into the ground game, which has proven to be one of the best in the league this season. Swift has double-digit touches in all but one game this season, delivering solid value for fantasy managers with 14.4 PPR points per game. Swift can be viewed as a low-end RB2 in Week 15 in a tough matchup against the Cleveland Browns, who have allowed just 3.8 yards per carry, the second-best mark in the league.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown wasn't as efficient as a runner in Week 14's loss to the Buffalo Bills, but he made up for it with the fourth multi-touchdown game of his career. Brown has been on a heater over the past few weeks after a slow start to the season. Since Week 8, the 25-year-old running back has totaled 87 carries for 417 yards and two touchdowns while adding 29 receptions (40 targets) for 205 yards and two more touchdowns as a receiver, ranking as the RB6 with 19.2 PPR points per game over that time. Brown has been a high-variance running back this season, posting five games with at least five yards per carry and four games with less than three yards per carry in games where he recorded at least 10 rush attempts. He remains a high-end option in the Bengals' potent offense for Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai has taken on a significant role in the team's backfield over the second half of the season. The rookie seventh-rounder posted only one game with more than 10 carries over the first eight weeks of the season, but has cleared that mark in five out of six games since Week 9. Monangai has working in tandem with D'Andre Swift and has been a key part of one of the best rushing attacks in the league. The workloads between the two backs have been similar since Week 9, with Monangai averaging 16.3 touches per game to Swift at 16.6. Swift earns more work as a receiver, while Monangai's bruising running style has granted him more opportunities near the goal line. The Rutgers product has a tough matchup on Sunday against a stout Cleveland Browns run defense, but Monangai can still be viewed as a viable flex play in Week 15.
From RotoBaller
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has excelled since being acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders at this year's trade deadline. Meyers has scored in three straight games and has totaled 22 receptions for 284 yards on 31 targets in five games with the team. The Jaguars are 4-1 since trading for him, with the 29-year-old wideout emerging as Trevor Lawrence's favorite target. Brian Thomas Jr.'s return in Week 13 hasn't slowed Meyers down, as he's compiled 16 targets in the past two weeks. Meyers should remain productive on Sunday against a New York Jets defense that has struggled all season. Fantasy managers can confidently fire him up as a solid WR2 option in Week 15.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones (Achilles) underwent surgery to repair his Achilles, which will sideline him for six to eight months. This should give Jones the ability to get fully cleared in time for training camp next summer. Jones is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but the two sides have reportedly not been discussing a contract extension. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Colts are expected to try to re-sign Jones, but the question is at what cost. Before going down in Week 14, Jones was experiencing a bounce-back season. The 28-year-old threw for 3,101 yards, 19 touchdowns, eight interceptions, while rushing for 164 yards on 45 rushing attempts and five scores over 13 games in 2025.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins kicker Riley Patterson has been solid but not spectacular this season, while filling in for Jason Sanders (hip), who remains on IR. Patterson has made 23 of his 25 field goal attempts and 28 of his 29 extra point attempts. He didn't have any issues on the road in the cold against the Jets last week, making all four of his kicks. This week, he'll be on the road for a night game in Pittsburgh with very cold temperatures again in the forecast. While it won't be ideal conditions for long field goals, Patterson has been consistent enough from short range to not be a total "must avoid" option, especially since the Steelers have been a top-10 matchup for kickers. Patterson is the No. 19 kicker in RotoBaller's Week 15 rankings, so there are potentially kickers with more upside on the waiver wire in most standard-sized leagues this week.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (back) popped up on the injury report on Saturday due to a back issue. According to Adam Schefter, McCaffrey is expected to suit up for the Week 15 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. This issue doesn't appear to be severe enough to keep McCaffrey on the sideline. If he suffers a setback, Brian Robinson Jr. and Isaac Guerendo would likely split up a majority of the snaps in the backfield. Fantasy managers should expect McCaffrey out there on Sunday, but there probably won't be official word until closer to kickoff. The 49ers don't play until 4:25 pm ET, so his official announcement might not be made until sometime in the afternoon.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) was placed on the reserve/left squad list on Saturday. This move will make Aiyuk ineligible to return and will end his season. Aiyuk has been out all season while recovering from ACL and MCL tears in his right knee, which he suffered during the 2024 season. All signs are pointing to the two sides splitting apart this offseason. The 27-year-old should draw interest on the free agent market, but he's likely taken his last snap in San Francisco. Aiyuk is worth stashing in dynasty formats, but it's unclear how this knee injury is going to impact his performance on the field in the future. He can safely be dropped in all redraft formats with his 2025 season being officially over.
